The MISC sweater thread

I don't actually wear sweaters all that much - only have about a half dozen of them in wool or cashmere. Pringle, Loro Piana & Ralph Lauren generally.

I have become increasingly fond of sweatervests, odd waistcoats, cardigans and other such items though - probably have another half dozen or so of these. My tailor is surprisingly competitively priced for odd waistcoats, so I'll be getting more of them over the coming years.

But then I'm a whore for winter clothes of all sorts. I also have 7 coats in regular rotation. :borg:

Overcoats are definitely my favourite winter items - I love the drama they create.

^ Only half a dozen? I love sweaters and I dont know if I have that many. (I probably do, but still). However, it is you we are talking bout. :p

^ well, compared to true sweater aficianados like flamingliberal with her 37(!), I'm definitely just a dilettante.

Haha, if I had the money, and a consistant weight, Id probably be in that range.

I don't have very many sweaters, as too many layers annoy me. I probably have a total of about 7. Have fallen in love with the Lyle and Scott mod sweaters look this winter, and would buy a mountain of them if I could.

It's interesting how some of the Scottish makers are repositioning themselves as more fashionable brands. I notice Pringle, Begg and others also doing it. Sensible, I guess.

I keep meaning to get an argyle or two but haven't yet found a colourway I like.

I guess with the raging trend of disposable clothes the high street is involved in, more people are becoming concerned with quality and workmanship. Some of them perhaps for environmental reasons too - crazy to fill up bin liners with clothes you've worn only a handful of times!

After seeing Glenn Beck's favorite, it kinda put me off sweaters for some time to come.

for all that talk about busts, there's a dearth of photos in here.

need. more. photos.

of women in tight sweaters, natch.

I'd never heard that chant until I looked through some of my mom's old yearbooks yesterday. (class of '84). This is how hers went.

We must, we must,
We must increase the bust,
The bigger the better,
The tighter the sweater,
The boys will appreciate us

Oh, and I'm a fleece pullover person myself.
