My parents were pretty cool about it. I was never into Barbie, because Barbie never ignited my imagination -- I was only into more fantasy like toys. My favorite toys as a child were the old Ninja Turtles action figures. I had some grand adventures with those little guys. I guess I was also not into G.I. Joe but I've never been a fan of the military and I've usually not been terribly interested in guns. I guess I did like stuffed animals a ton, but one of my favorite things about them was alot of them didn't have a set persona so I could make up new ones and cast them as different characters.
Looking back, I remember playing Ninja Turtles with boys at times when I was hanging out with my parents' friends' children or at daycare. Alot of the boys would get way too rough with me -- I remember one in particular would actually hurt my hands when he had them doing sword chops ands tuff -- but some were cool.
Also, when I played house with people, I was always either the Cat or the Dog.
