Ottawa ran the tests and then when the tests failed they changed the requirements for the test to be deemed successful so that they wouldn't be marked as failures to delay the opening

The James T. Kirk method of testing: "I didn't cheat, I changed the conditions of the test!"

Happy Tim Hortons retro doughnuts day to everyone! :) I love the blueberry fritters, so I am very glad to have them back, at least for a limited time. :luvlove:

Which of the four are your favourite?

It's been awhile since I've been to Ottawa...I know this sounds like a stupid question, but does the train go to the airport yet? It didn't the last time I was there.

OK.

Are there any plans for it to do so? Maybe by the time all the construction on Parliament Hill is done? (see my earlier post about Hell freezing over  )

Time for another stupid question...

With all the renovations in Centre Block, where do the various government offices go? Did they just build a bunch of temporary buildings?

And, bloody hell, I just checked...construction's not supposed to be done until at least 2030...

Also, are they renovating any of the other buildings up there, or just the one?

Renovations of other buildings have been ongoing for years. West Block is serving as fill-in for the House Chamber until it's done, and those renos - as well as the East and PMO Blocks - are done. The old Union Station building is now housing the Senate, and that required a whole bunch of refitting of its own.

Also, the Pandemic seemed to free up a lot of federal buildings for reno work, too. Schedules got accelerated at CRA's old Data Centre complex, for example...

Yeah. Meanwhile, the existence of the trains was used to justify selling off buses rather than boosting trips/hour frequency on all the routes.
So that’s where Montreal/provincial governments got the idea about getting rid of South Shore buses to the island once the REM started over the new Champlain Bridge (which was designed and built with dedicated bus lanes). And here I thought it was homegrown idiocy.

@DEWLine, when you mentioned Union Station it reminded me of this little gem. :)

I am very embarrassed to admit that I had totally forgotten Lorne Greene was Canadian. :alienblush:

Come on, @Mr. Laser Beam , do I need to break out the infographic again? :D

But at the risk of incurring the wrath...who is the one to the left of Bruce Greenwood?

No wrath. :) It's Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy, in this case voiced by Canadian (& American, in fairness; she does have dual citizenship but was born in Canada) Jennifer Hale. If you've never played Mass Effect, or never played the female version of Shepard, then it's understandable you might not recognize her. The voice of male Shepard, Mark Meer, is also Canadian, so Shepard earns their way on the list either way. :D
