The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

Yeah, and I was kind of hoping for an apology or at least some kind response to my post too.

As a big fan of The Rise of Skywalker, who is neurodivergent, I find this post highly insulting.
Obviously meant as a joke. Being neurodivergent isn't brain damage in any definition and the phrase I used is so obviously comic hyperbole that we need to all just take a breath and realize there's no ill intent here. But, no, I won't be apologizing for it.

I was bullied to no extend when I was a child and a teenager. The bully doesn't get to decide if and when words hurt.

Sorry that you went through that, that sounds truly awful.

However, in no way, shape or form did I bully you nor anyone else. I said in a silly, comical way that "fans of Rise of Skywalker" - aka no one in particular - were "brain damaged," an absurd comical hyperbole.

Accidentally hurting someone's feelings with zero ill intent doesn't make you a bully - particularly if the comments were not directed at you.

But if your feelings were seriously hurt by such a silly statement, then I suggest your healing journey still has a ways to go and I encourage you to keep working on that. Good luck.

I didn't say my feelings were hurt. Someone else did. And they said they were insulted. Not that their feelings were hurt. But I learned that, if by accident, I hurt someone's feelings or insulted them, I apologize. I don't lay the blame at their feet.

Ah, the classic "Oh, but it was a joke! Couldn't you tell?!" excuse that's so classic among bullies who never want to accept accountability.

Please spare us. We all see through you.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm glad you weren't insulted.

Sorry, but there's absolutely no ambiguity here. It was so obviously silly, lighthearted hyperbole not directed at any one person that, no, I'm not going to apologize for it. Gimme a break with this.

Classic bully behavior my fanny. Get a grip.

Well it wasn't obvious that it was a joke to me, and that is the way people talk about people who are neurodivergent or have other issues, so I still found the highly insulting, even if that wasn't you intent.

Obviously there was ambiguity there since me, and it sounds like possibly several other posters didn't interpret it as a joke. And as a general rule even if you didn't mean to offend people, it's still the typically seen as polite to apologize, but then again I guess that's just to much to expect these days.

Yes to this. If you step on someone's foot without meaning to, that doesn't mean they weren't actually hurt. What matters is the impact, not the intent.

The only thing I'm going to say about this flimsy 'I was joking' defense is the following:
"One need not intend harm to do it".
