The Lost Era

I liked Well of Souls, but not as much as SATR or AOTI. I thought it had some pretty dark depictions of Starfleet characters which were refreshing. However, the reading was slow going for me at times, and I thought too much time was spent on Garrett's family life.

I also liked Catalyst-perhaps the setup and cast more than the story itself. Ditto with the Sulu novel, though the Neyel were a pretty interesting species. Never read Deny Thy Father. I thought SATR and AOTI were the best of the bunch.

I've purchased the Bajoran Occupation trilogy and The Buried Age, but I haven't read them yet.

It's a shame that the Tzenkethi War book might not be published. I sounded like a really cool project, and it would've been nice to see the Tzenkethi more fleshed out and Sisko on the Okinawa.

I just finished The Buried Age, and it is by far my favourite so far of The Lost Era.

The last couple of sections - as the Enterprise crew takes shape - were great to read (so much so that I bumped into two people whilst walking and reading :)).

Great story and I especially liked how Ariel always felt ominous yet several times I was thinking about trusting her and yet... never quite did. When something 'looks too good to be true...'. The interplay between Data and Picard, Guinan and Picard, & Troi and Picard was spot on.

Nicely done.

You just need more experience - ask anyone I went to school with and they'd tell you that me walking around reading was a common sight and I'd rarely if ever bump into anyone. I would occasionally even read while walking home.
