The Loners Thanksgiving Thread

Post here, if you are alone this Thanksgiving, what are your plans, what are doing to treat yourself?

I technically have family here where I live, but they decided to go do their own thing this Thanksgiving, and I was not not invited, so I have no where else to go, I'll be spending thanksgiving day with myself! First time really I've ever spent Thanksgiving without some kind of family.

I'm trying to make the best of it and am going to be treating myself today!

I bought Cinnamon rolls to start off my morning. I'm going to eat a light lunch. I bought a ham with some ham glaze and stuff to put in the oven all day so I can have glazed ham for dinner! I bought seasoned green beans, white and gold corn, and herb flavored stuffing that I'm going to mix with cream of chicken soup. I bought some cherry limeade to drink today. So I'm just going to have me my own little thanksgiving dinner!

Anyone else by themselves this year?

I am. Since this has never been a favorite holiday, I'm fine w/ it. And a friend from out of town is going to visit me this weekend, since she has to work today.

Most of my waking hours are spent at Walmart. I worked overnight last night in preparation for Black Friday, and I'll be going into the store at 12:00 (Midnight) to take care of our early morning electronics shoppers... so between Walmart and sleeping, I only had about 4 hours of downtime this morning, during which time I ate some tater tots and watched an episode of "Chuck". It would be a very lonely Thanksgiving for me, if, in fact, I didn't work at Walmart. :)

I am by myself today. But I don't really celebrate Thanksgiving so I don't really care. So I am working today and I have gotten tons done with no one bothering me. :rommie:

I am also a vegetarian. So even if I did celebrate, the gorging on dead bird would be completely lost on me anyway.

Made a ham yesterday to go with the turkey and everything else.... take it over yesterday. Then get told last night that there's not enough space (chairs) for me. So I get to sit here, but she will bring leftovers. Told her to fuck herself.

Bought myself some turkey TV dinners yesterday as a cheap way of having a Thanksgiving feast. No cooking required. There was chocolate pie and sparkling cider on sale, so got some of those, too. My company threw a big catered Thanksgiving feast Tuesday afternoon, so I've already had the "full-on meal and tons of people" holiday experience.

Honestly, though it would be nice to have something to do with someone else today, I've also spent the last month working 14-16 hour days, plus working weekends, so I'm looking forward to doing nothing but sitting quietly in a room for the next three days.

I am going to sit here and be depressed and ponder the empty wasteland that is my life. You know, what I do everyday.

Little irritated because my company originally gave me a security shift at a new place and then changed it because they said they need me at my regular site, but then cancelled that at the last minute. I could have really used the time and a half

So far I really haven't done anything but I really should get going and do some of the errands I need to do. hopefully my girlfriend will come over tonight with some food, but honestly I am usually alone on Thanksgiving so this isn't a big deal for me.

I am by myself today.

Sorry you're by yourself today, it would be great if everyone could be with friends and family this time of year.

I am also a vegetarian. So even if I did celebrate, the gorging on dead bird would be completely lost on me anyway.

We would look silly trying to gorge ourselves on a live bird that is running from us! :p

Dinner was good, I learned some things that I can improve upon next time to make it even better. The ham was great, had a real nice flavor to it, I had it baking on low heat all day so the juices and flavors would bake in. Everything was moist, I was surprised I didn't burn anything or dry anything out, which I have a bad habit of doing. I have enough left over for another meal tomorrow night of it. The one thing I forgot to get though was a desert, luckily I had some cookies. The cherry limeade wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, from Minute Made, tasted more like lemonade.
