The Library of Star Treks That Never Were - Book cover designs

Cool thread Ptrope! I've been working on my own fictional series (for years, sadly) and still working out the chronology. As usual for my Trek work of this nature, it's not quite the Trek you think it is. At any rate, here's where it all started, back in 1956.....

And this is near the series end, around 1973

(yes, I'm aware of the typo)

Speaking of Tech Manuals, someone (MadMan1701?) posted an image of a classic era Saladin type scout but done in the style of the original Tech Manual. I thought it'd be cool to see if the whole manual could be updated like that as part of a collaborative effort by the Fan Art community. These days we've got all the stuff needed, between 3D modelling programs, Poser, Photoshop, Word, etc.

Fantastic! I'd love to see these linked to larger versions - they really look authentic :bolian:

Thanks Ptrope! Both you and Arcas have done fantastic work as well! I could make them a bit larger, however I don't want to get too large as a certain overall effect is lost. Arcas has some brilliant covers, but I have to scroll to see the whole cover.

Any thoughts on that tech manual suggestion?

reminds me of star trek bookcovers in my dreams of going to bookstores. One had a skull hologram over the lower part of a saucer seen in a 3/4 view from below.

Here's the latest 'found' novel, a crazy "what if" from a Trek universe that never was nor ever should be:

Actually, Arcas has done some cool tech manual-style illustrations of the Ranger-class:

And, inspired by his sterling example, I went for the human side of the manual:

Nice work guys!! Actually I had you in mind for the "human" part of the manual. It's like you were readin' my mind Ptrope! :techman:

And that tribble cover is one of the most awesome things in the history of awesome things! Brought a big smile to my face!

That tribble one made me think "The Day of the Killer Tribbles".

Was that a book, or just a movie?
