So, next up in these alien-race-themed elimination games: the Romulans! I know, I know, what's the point when we all know "Nemesis" is going to win? But let's see what happens anyway...

Anyway, THE RULES. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. Below is a list of Romulan episodes (and movies) from almost every series (just missing Disco -- but including a Kelvin timeline movie!). Eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed.

Finally, please leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.

As usual, it's a bit subjective where the cut-off is, how Romulan-y a story has to be to count as a Romulan episode, do the simulations in "Future Imperfect" count, etc. Hopefully people like the determinations I made as to what merits inclusion on this list, but, if you think something doesn't even belong at all, feel free to use that as a reason to eliminate it.

[Farscape One]

I am happy to eliminate the J.J. Abrams directed STAR TREK. I just did not like it. (Or the second movie. BEYOND was the only really good one of that trilogy.) While I do like that it renewed interest in the franchise and made a new generation of fans, I hate the movie itself. It's clear he was a STAR WARS fan, because this movie had too many parallels to it. Plus, the lens flare was blinding.

The Romulans in this are just generic enemies and it didn't make much sense throwing an almost declared war state between the Fed and Romulans again this far into the post-Dominion War era. Not without some context. They were just there so Voyager could also have some Romulans to deal with.

Getting rid of "The Practical Joker", the other TAS ep on this list... I don't know TAS that well, but I know it well enough to know that I find this episode particularly grating. Even just on an auditory level, the computer laughter! Somehow it's not mixed well or the levels are off somehow, there's something wrong with it on the technical side, it's just not pleasant to listen to.

Though the Romulan angle is just about the only thing about the episode I do like, "Data's Day" really turns me off. I hate the way the Keiko/O'Brien relationship is introed, and the whole thing just bores me. I saw someone comment recently about the weird paradox of Data, he's such a great character but so many Data-centric episodes are duds. Very true, and this is a perfect example of that!
