And I'm going to start by axing Mayweather, my clear #1 Most Hated Trek Regular Character. The actor just isn't up to... anything, really. I think his showcase eps in season 1 and 2 are the low points of the entire franchise. It marvels me that at the end of SEASON TWO, they were writing scenes for him where he's crying over his recently deceased father. They knew the actor they were dealing with at that point! How could they have ever imagined Montgomery could land such challenging material?

I'm going to remove Voq/Ash Tyler. A friend of mine nicknamed him "Captain Blandsome" which I think fits. They did nothing with him as a character which was interesting, and Latif had zero chemistry with SMG onscreen, making every scene between them (most of his scenes) leaden.

Well, I didn't have to check the credits, that information is just burned into my brain.

From TNG on, it's unambiguous that everyone listed meets the classification of a series regular except Pulaski and Georgiou, but, despite some offbeat billing, it felt clear to me that they were treated as regular characters in every other respect by their respective series during their tenure's, so they merited inclusion.

For TOS & TAS, we went with the Memory Alpha ruling on who qualifies as a main character and who doesn't. But it's consistent with the way I always saw it.

It's interesting that Star Trek has been around long enough for the meaning of "series regular" to be redefined multiple times over the life of the franchise.

Goodbye, Christine Chapel. Her scenes are always a total timesuck, as all she ever does is moon over Mr. Spock with absolutely no character progression. And there's the fact that she was only written into the show in the first place to give Roddenberry's mistress a part after the network rejected her in the first pilot.
