The least disliked episode of VOY - Season Two

The Thaw because it's creepy, I realize that's the point but it still makes me uncomfortable and I didnt't particularly enjoy watching it.

Projections
Persistence of Vision
Resistance
Meld
Lifesigns
Deadlock

I'll take down "Projections," even though it's admittedly well-done. While the Doctor may not be certain of his real situation, the audience is never in doubt, and that makes the resolution too predictable.

Persistence of Vision
Resistance
Meld
Lifesigns
Deadlock

Persistence of Vision is the weakest one left for me. I never took to Janeway's original holo-novel, aside from Carolyn Seymour. Having it appear more in this episode (albeit in a quirky way) just makes me twitch.

Resistance
Meld
Lifesigns
Deadlock

Resistance
Meld
Deadlock

The last ones this season are really, really good. I will eliminate "LIFESIGNS" only because it includes the Paris acting badly operation.

Getting rid of "Meld", also for being marred by the awful Paris-misbehaves arc. And there's something I overall find a bit dreary about "Meld"... my head likes it more than my heart does. I always thought one of Voyager's biggest problems was that it refused to adequately explore the darkness demanded of it's premise... but 2 decades later, knowing it stayed such a determinedly light show the whole time, I don't respond as much to the occasional Hard Dark "Meld"-like outings as I once did. "Deadlock" and "Resistance" are both more fun to rewatch.

Resistance
Deadlock

Gonna have to eliminate Resistance, purely on the basis that I don't really remember much of anything about it! (Though I certainly don't remember it being offensively bad, which is more than I can say about a lot of other episodes from this season)

Anyhow, Deadlock wins!

I like Deadlock :biggrin::beer::bolian:

There are certainly things about it that drive me crazy (the easy swap of Harry & Naomi to replace their dead counterparts), but I'd say "Deadlock" is somewhere in my top 4 of the season. With "Dreadnought", "Tuvix", and (it's such a satisfying guilty pleasure, don't kill me, it transports me back to a whole era of gloriously OTT 90's cliffhangers) "Basics, Part 1."

I definitely wouldn't have guessed that Deadlock would be in the final five, let alone win this contest. It's a very flawed episode IMO. In fact, I almost eliminated it the last time I voted.
