The least disliked episode of VOY - Season Three

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
This is a game that was played here a couple of years ago, and it proved to be a lot of fun, spanning across each Trek series, as well as a great way to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

I will do the honor of eliminating False Profits, for being the worst episode in Star Trek history.

It's pure fail in every imaginable way. Besides being a 'Voyager screws up another chance to get home' episode, they only fail because they locked up the Ferengi in a cell with no security and put no security anywhere near their ship. It also features the stupidest sentient creatures in the Star Trek universe, and their prime directive excuse for why they couldn't just take the Ferengi away and explain to them they'd been DUPED was absurd.

Although with the stupidity level of this local population (WINGS OF FIRE! WINGS OF FIRE!), without the Ferengi they probably died of exposure within a week for failure to dress themselves in the morning.

I remarked that Death Wish was the best Q episode in Voyager. Q and the Grey, on the other hand, is really bad. The Q are having a civil war. Therefore it will look like the American Civil War. Clever.

The Q go to war because Quinn killed himself? So it's a no-no for Q to commit suicide, but execution (True Q) is perfectly acceptable. Uh huh.

And what a waste of Suzie Plakson. Though she gets to call Janeway a dog (let's just assume she really would have said bitch), which was awesome.

Favorite Son - another awful Kim episode, another awful Kim-having-love-interests episode, and another episode where people's DNA changes (?!) :vulcan:

Goodbye Flashback. The repressed memory virus plot was garbage, should have just time traveled if they wanted to revisit TUC so badly.

I will eliminate Displaced because it just took too many contrivances.

Their crew is gradually being replaced and they don't suspect until there are only a few people left that this is something intentional? And nobody ever tries to program the ship to beam away any new person who appears or lock down the corridors with forcefields? How'd they get the command codes anyway? And then they manage to get them to give up their whole operation by holding two people hostage?

Points for actually using Chakotay well for once, but among a mediocre season, the problems stand out the most to me.

I'm taking out Warlord. Too big of a part of Jennifer Lien to handle. She came accross to me as a little girl playing dressup in her mother's clothes

Goodbye "Fair Trade". I disliked Neelix so didn't want to learn anything about him or his past. Besides, if he didn't know space ahead, why not just say? He wasn't about to be hung, drawn and quartered for his lack of knowledge (unfortunately).

There are another six episodes I could happily cut right now without a second thought, but guess that'll have to wait.

"Coda": a waste of a terrific guest actor. And Beltran over-emoting. Wooden is better in his case.

Blood Fever - so Klingons get Pon Farr too? Vorik fights B'Elanna to the death for the right to mate with .... B'Elanna. Apparently that's within Vulcan law, which Tuvok confirms. But hey, this show has made much larger leaps in logic before, so this is small potatoes.

I eliminate Distant Origin, because the premise was stupid, and if they were going to introduce a race like that it should have had actual ramifications in future episodes.
