The least disliked episode of TOS - Season Two

Not enough obsession for Obsession. Well, probably enough, just not as much as for the remaining episodes. ;)

Amok Time
Mirror, Mirror
The Doomsday Machine
Metamorphosis
Journey To Babel
The Trouble with Tribbles
The Ultimate Computer

Metamorphosis removed, it's not bad but the others are simply better or more memorable.

Amok Time
Mirror, Mirror
The Doomsday Machine
Journey To Babel
The Trouble with Tribbles
The Ultimate Computer

Amok Time
Mirror, Mirror
The Doomsday Machine

The Ultimate Computer

And then there were 5....uh, I mean 4 because The Trouble with Tribbles ate too much Quadrotriticale.

My favorite Kirk line : “A fat tribble.”

The Ultimate Computer is next for me. It's awesome. I just like the others slightly more.

Amok Time
Mirror, Mirror
The Doomsday Machine

I'd almost put another story on the list but one is a tad more parochial in scope. There's this smoke puff creature thing that people inhale but die instead of cravin' munchies. The puffnstuff critter can travel at warp speed. The Enterprise now has air vents that go directly outside... these and other FTW moments are misfires in what's a halfway decent story involving Kirk's past, a related crewmember, obsession (the obvious namesake), revenge, et al. Like TWOK only a lot more woolly.

In other words, I am no longer obsessed with "Obsession".

What's left:

Amok Time
Mirror, Mirror
The Doomsday Machine
Metamorphosis
Journey To Babel

The Trouble with Tribbles
The Ultimate Computer

I can't believe someone obliterated Obsession and then later The Doomsday Machine! :wtf:
JB

There's one down, anyway... :D

"The Doomsday Machine" is better than the other runaround I wanted to remove, but I might get to that later, but I will say TDM - for a simpler plot - is utterly rock solid. Thus, to me, is the better story as its concept is sufficient but more than concept makes a story. Which is why the other story wasn't chosen (it's a bit better) and "Obsession" is just a puff of smoke that some want legalized. :D

I thought the rest were all eliminated! Mirror, Mirror is one of my favourite episodes so don't get me wrong about that either, Cutie! :techman:

Obsession and Doomsday are very similar shows and not just musically! Decker is obsessed with the Berserker and Kirk is obsessed with the Cloud creature that killed the crew on the USS Farragut and is now doing the same to the men and women on the Enterprise!

It's one of my favorites as well! (In my teardown of "Adonis", I think that was the one, I mentioned the stories left were all good - just nitpicks that were setting them back, as opposed to being total nutty clusters

Thanks okay. We here at The Empire are very forgiving. After Chekov is through, it’s The Booth for you. Full duration.

At least in the Doomsday Machine, Kirk didn't need to resort to seduction of a woman or talk a computer into suicide, again (on both). The show was hitting on all cylinders in DM.
