Okay Trek fans, this game has been successful on the boards for the other shows, and I hope it prospers here as well. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Eliminating "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" - heavy-handed, leaden allegory and performances verging on camp may not be all they ever had...but it's all they have left.

Eliminated "The Way to Eden"

To quote theviewscreen.com, "Watching Kirk and Scotty whine about those “undisciplined troublemakers” doesn’t even seem like a joke, it seems sad. The whole thing felt like it had been penned by a cranky, 90-year-old man, confused and scared by those meddling kids."

In addition, the guest stars are incredibly annoying and the musical portions were embarrassing to watch. This is one of those few episodes I would love to purge from existence.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
And the Children Shall Lead
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web

Requiem for Methuselah
The Way to Eden
The Cloud Minders
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

Removing "Spock's Brain" - :wtf:, one of the most ridiculous episodes Trek has ever brought forth...

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
And the Children Shall Lead
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Wink of an Eye
The Empath
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
The Lights of Zetar
Requiem for Methuselah
The Way to Eden
The Cloud Minders
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

Removing "The Mark of Gideon". Ridiculous plot.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
And the Children Shall Lead
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Wink of an Eye
The Empath
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
The Lights of Zetar
Requiem for Methuselah
The Way to Eden
The Cloud Minders
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

Come on - And the Children Shall Lead was not the first episode removed? Seriously? As to why I'm removing it - simple...WORSY EPISODE OF THE ORIGINAL STAR TREK (no question about it.) ;)

A few of you have to be more careful in making sure your lists are current when you post them.

Here is the correct list so far:

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Wink of an Eye
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
The Lights of Zetar
Requiem for Methuselah
The Cloud Minders
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

I'm removing the Empath because I find Gem incredibly annoying and she chews the scenery more than Shatner despite being a mute.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Wink of an Eye
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
The Cloud Minders
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

Removing The Lights of Zetar. It commits the biggest sin an episode can, which is just that it's outright boring. The 45 minutes seems interminably long.

I like The Empath. Oh well.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Wink of an Eye
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

The Cloud Minders - Spock is really out of character, Droxine is incredibly annoying and seems nothing like someone Spock would get interested in, and the romance is totally unconvincing.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Plato's Stepchildren
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

The science of "Wink of an Eye" is too outrageous, so it's gone faster than Kirk can put his boots back on.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
The Savage Curtain
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

Quarantining "Plato's Stepchildren" - let's not confuse doing a good thing with doing something well.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruder

The Savage Curtain - really ham-fisted good vs evil story.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
That Which Survives
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

Taking away Turnabout Intruder. A very anti-climatic end to the series filled with executive meddling "Women can't be starship captain's" and a totally insane story with one of Shatner's hammiest performances.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
Day of the Dove
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

That Which Survives - all the other really, really bad episodes of Season Three are gone, this is only one that remains, IMO.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
Spectre of the Gun
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

Eliminating "Day of the Dove" - a thousand crummy episodes can be dumped in one night by a running man.

Oh, there are plenty of really, really bad shows ahead of us yet. Season three sucks.

Oh, there are weak episodes left, no doubt. But ones that I find absolutely awful - no, those are gone.

Season Three is pretty bad, but even it has some gems in it - like The Enterprise Incident, The Tholian Web and All Our Yesterdays.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Elaan of Troyius
Whom Gods Destroy
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

Taking out Spectre of the Gun - never had an interest in anything western-themed.

The Enterprise Incident
The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Whom Gods Destroy
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

Elaan of Troyius - Elaan is annoying and the "romance" (?) story is bad.
I like all the remaining episodes, more or less (though The Paradise Syndrime and Requiem for Methuselah have some serious problems, esp. related - again! - to Kirk's "romances").

The Paradise Syndrome
Is There in Truth No Beauty?
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Tholian Web
Whom Gods Destroy
Requiem for Methuselah
All Our Yesterdays

"The Enterprise Incident" has defected - I just don't buy the story or the context.

Oooh, may I play?

I'd lose "Requiem for Methuselah". I never liked Kirk's over-the-top love for Rayna (even for the Kirk character, it's just a tad too overplayed) and the android short-circuiting from her new found emotions always aggravated me.
