The least disliked episode of ENT - Season Two

This is a game that we play every few years or so, and it's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters, and wait at least 6 hours after your last vote, before voting again.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Precious Cargo, for being bad enough that it caused me to stop watching Enterprise when it first aired. It's only in the last year or so that I've come back to it.

R.I.P., "Cogenitor," the first episode of Trek to ever have me screaming at a captain in outrage. When leaving an intelligent being in slavery is treated as the moral option, and attempting to free that being is presented as wrong or even foolish -- this old Trekker doesn't want to hear it.

Killing "THE CROSSING". It just droned on and on. A forgettable episode.

My favorite bit the dust with only the second vote. :sigh:

I'll get rid of Marauders - those Klingons were remarkably weak and dumb.

Goodbye Shockwave II. The part one was an interesting end to the first season but this was a poor follow up. The gazelle speech was a bit silly as well.

On the whole this season has many choices. Didn't know what to go for first. :D

And for my next trick, I shall make Vanishing Point disappear!

For reasons I can't even begin to fathom, it seems like B&B decided that what TNG's The Next Phase really needed to stand out was an "it's all just a dream" ending, hence giving us an episode that's both derivative and clichéd.

I am sending "HORIZON" away. I applaud the writers trying to give the man something to do, but I truly think he was not a good actor. We could have had one less main character in the ensemble and it would not have changed. I just can't get behind episodes centered around Mayweather.

I'm curious... has there ever been a "Most Disliked Episode Showdown" for each series? It would be interesting to see which ones end up being the most maligned.

If there isn't one, maybe I can start it...

I still enjoy every episode of each series, even the not so good ones (with VERY few exceptions). I can get some kind of enjoyment out of all 726 episodes and 13 movies (yes, I am counting The Animated Series in this, which I still think should have a favorite episode showdown).

I guess this is more curiousity than anything else.

Several years ago (like maybe 8 or 9) I did one, although we used a different format. That one was done with a poll where everyone could vote for their three least favorites per season, and the five highest vote getters then faced off to determine the least liked of each season, then from each season the least liked from each series, and from each series the least liked of all of Trek. A couple of months ago I stumbled across the file where I had saved my tallies to track the results - somehow it survived the move across two or three laptops. The grand winner back then was "And The Children Shall Lead" (TOS), beating out "These Are The Voyages..." in a runoff.

We are well overdue for an update, I think, so go ahead!

I'm eliminating Bounty for the T'Pol pon farr subplot.

I remember Dawn being a dull episode. It really never grabbed me.

I'll get rid of Canamar; it was a very tired feeling plot, the sort that had already been done several times on Voyager, and this take really didn't stand out in any good way.

Dropping Singularity. The crew gets obsessed about mundane things, did nothing to grow the characters.

Just noticed I accidentally cut Carbon Creek out of the list when I was eliminating Canamar. The correct list is therefore:

Carbon Creek
Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
The Communicator
The Catwalk
Stigma
Cease Fire
Future Tense
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

Sacrificing "JUDGMENT". Despite having J.G. Hertzler here, it was a rather forgettable homage to that STAR TREK VI scene.

The first year we tried this game (2011) I did make a "Most Disliked" version afterwards. I think the ultimate winner (or loser) was Voyager's The Fight. After that I made "least disliked" movie, then "least disliked character" of each series and so on.

In following years I just stuck to "least disliked episode" because making all the games was so time-consuming; the whole process of making all the threads took the better part of a year.

Updated list:

Carbon Creek
Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
The Communicator
The Catwalk
Stigma
Cease Fire
Future Tense
First Flight
The Expanse
