The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DISCO Season 4

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favourite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

I couldn't stand the drama with Tilly and the cadets in "All Is Possible". I thought the way they all bonded as friends was very cringey and cliché.

[Seven of Five]

Easily the best Season, even though it dragged in places.

The Galactic Barrier is a good example of S4's ability to stall the arc f0r an episode.

A ten episode season would have been much better.

Excellent season. The only episode I hate is "The Examples." I still can. not. fucking. believe. they made this WHOLE EPISODE about prisoners and redemption, and at no point does it seem that anyone remembers that Burnham began this show as a prisoner, and thank fucking god redemption was allowed because she saved the entire universe 5 or 6 times after that.

And ugh, this episode is just terribly constructed. So many long boring speeches from the prisoner who refuses to be rescued. The first time my family and I were yelling at the TV "fine, just leave him to die already!" That character did not work, at all.

[Farscape One]

The 4th season of every STAR TREK series, historically, seems to be their best one. TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, LDS... until now. I was expecting improvement, not being worse about having a season of meandering. The sad part is that this is the ONLY season where DISCO actually stuck the landng. The ending helps the season, but it still doesn't justify having 13 episodes for a season story that could easily have been told in 5 or 6 episodes. Just so much junk. This series REALLY should have taken the cue from ENT season 4 if they were going to be so insistent on arcs... have a few 2 or 3-parters in a shorter season. Enough to tell the story and be exciting but not dragged out to boredom.

Like "All In".

Could have been condensed into a piece of an episode, not made as an entire one.

For all the things it does well Stormy Weather highlights the absolute pointlessness of Gray.

By the end of the season the themes of trauma and finding connection had gotten kind of played out, with even the ship getting emotions in Stormy Weather. And then "Rosetta" brings them to the planet where even the dirt has emotions and Detmer gets to tell people her trauma. Also a dude gets chewed out for making a standard quip, because we're only doing extremely earnest dialogue this season.

There's only two episodes left that I feel are worthy winners for this season

And "...But to Connect" is not one of them. It gets unconnected.

Anomaly is probably the weakest entry on the list now. The A-story is perfectly fine, not the best of this season but no real faults in it, but too much time is taken up by the Gray story and that was pointless nonsense that added nothing and went nowhere. They'd just written themselves into a corner last season and had to do something about it.

There are only 2 episodes that are worthy of winning this season... the finale and the one right before.

"Species Ten-C" was great because it was learning how to communicate, and "Coming Home" is the ONLY season finale of DISCO that stuck the landing. (Too bad it wasn't for a better season.)

By process of elimination, "Kobayashi Maru" is a no-win scenario for itself. So it goes.
