The least disliked character of the movies (I-X)

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Captain Terrell
Saavik
Dr Carol Marcus

The Voyage Home

Admiral Cartwright

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

Generations

Guinan
Demora Sulu

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Nemesis

Commander Donatra

Nurse Ogawa - like with Rand and Chapel in the TMP, she's only there to appease fans of the series. Unlike Rand and Chapel, I liked her character. But, it's time for her to go.

Only 12 left. Starting to see which ones stand out from the crowd (and which ones don't).

Also shows how some people played this game: a lot of the memorable characters that were highly disliked went quickly in the first page, and we've spent the last 4 pages trying to get rid of the forgettable characters in order to make way for the least disliked characters.

The Wrath of Khan

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon

Generations

I eliminate Admiral Cartwright because of his role in the conspiracy to sabotage the peace accord.

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Captain Terrell
Saavik
Dr Carol Marcus

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

Generations

Guinan

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Nemesis

Commander Donatra

I eliminate Demora Sulu, because its really fishy that George Takei would procreate...

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Captain Terrell
Saavik
Dr Carol Marcus

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Nemesis

Commander Donatra

Guinan - of all the TNG movies, it was First Contact that she should have been in. She was pretty much wasted in Generations.

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Saavik
Dr Carol Marcus

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Nemesis

Commander Donatra

Captain Terrell... Much as I like him, the guy was captain of a crew who couldn't count the number of planets in a star system!

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Saavik

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Nemesis

Commander Donatra

Dr Carol Marcus. What's wrong with an overgrown boy scout? Plus, who lies to a father about having a son?

The rest of these characters are all good. I'm glad these are the ones that made it to the finals.

The Wrath of Khan

Khan Noonien Singh
Saavik

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Eliminating Donatra, because it's lame when rare females in positions of authority in SF get the "trying to use sex to get ahead" treatment... Like, if they had been a bunch of great female characters in the movie and one if them is using sex to get ahead, that's OK cause some people do that, but let's see, the other prominent female role was about... getting raped and getting the mens angry and protective. Nice.

And also, because all the other remaining characters are great.

The Wrath of Khan

Saavik

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
Azetbur
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Eliminating Khan Noonien Singh because being genetically engineered should disqualify him. That and for an evil genius, he had a dumbfounded blank stare of confusion on his face too often.

The Wrath of Khan

Saavik

The Undiscovered Country

Chancellor Gorkon
General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Azetbur, because I like her slightly less than Saavik. She's a strong female lead, but if we're going to eliminate the Efrosian President, then Azetbur's gotta go too. She didn't have a lot of substance.

The Wrath of Khan

Saavik

The Undiscovered Country

General Chang

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

Chancellor Gorkon, because he never saw the betrayal of General Chang coming. Or maybe just because he's not as awesome as the three remaining. Either way, I'm surprised Khan didn't make it to the end.

The Wrath of Khan

Saavik

First Contact

Zephram Cochrane

General Chang...It's not because I keep expecting him to start singing Edelweiss, rather it's because he's not Khan and Khan is my favourite villian from the movies. Also I do like Cochrane and Saavik much better.

Dang, I was hoping Donatra would last a little longer.

The Wrath of Khan

Saavik

Zephram Cochrane - Saavik is just so much better of a character. It's a shame she wasn't included more.

Oh, and..... Robin Curtis >>>>> Kristie Alley.

Saavik is cool and all, but I didn't think she should win. I was hoping it would come down to Khan, Chang, and Cochrane. I also liked Donatra better than Saavik, but someone sniped her off the list.

Besides, Dina Meyer > Robin Curtis > Kirstie Alley. Especially after Starship Troopers.

Yay, the thread is finally finished! Once all the unknowns were eliminated it definitely got easier. I am glad Saavik won.

Thank god I did, the idea that she could have won is disturbing. :rommie:

I've never gotten the obsession with Saavik, she's an OK character but there are better ones. But at least she wasn't trying to use sex to get ahead. (Great treatment of female characters, Nemesis. Blah.)

Personally, I was hoping Khan would win. But, in a match-up between Saavik and Cochrane - yeah, it's Saavik all the way! :techman:

I couldn't agree more! I was just sure that Khan was going to win. Once it got down to those select few, Saavik really just had to be the choice. Seems right that it still wound up being someone from TWOK.

Eliminating Khan Noonien Singh... That and for an evil genius, he had a dumbfounded blank stare of confusion on his face too often.
Yeah, I've always thought that the character with the "superior intellect" got outsmarted a little too easily and too often. Christopher Lloyd's Klingon from TSFS seemed smarter and more aware of what was going on, really.
