The Least Disliked Borg Episode/Movie

Getting to the point where it's getting harder to choose between episodes now; I'll eliminate One, if only for the fact that it's probably the least consequential of the episodes here.

"Q Who”, TNG Season 2
“The Best Of Both Worlds I”, TNG Season 3
“The Best Of Both Worlds II”, TNG Season 4
“I, Borg”, TNG Season 5
“Scorpion I”, VOY Season 3
“Scorpion II”, VOY Season 4
“The Gift”, VOY Season 4

"I, Borg" is no longer part of the Collective. It's swell and all that that our heroes weren't willing to use their buddy Hugh as a Trojan horse to destroy the Collective, but I somehow doubt that the Borg's many subsequent victims would agree that Picard's decision was the compassionate one.

"Q Who”, TNG Season 2
“The Best Of Both Worlds I”, TNG Season 3
“The Best Of Both Worlds II”, TNG Season 4
“Scorpion I”, VOY Season 3
“Scorpion II”, VOY Season 4
“The Gift”, VOY Season 4

Taking out "THE GIFT". A good episode, but the others overshadow it by a lot.

I'll remove Scorpion II, purely because part one is stronger with all of the setup and intrigue with 8472.

Q Who”, TNG Season 2
“The Best Of Both Worlds I”, TNG Season 3
“The Best Of Both Worlds II”, TNG Season 4
“Scorpion I”, VOY Season 3

BOBW 2 is out, the resolution is a bit anti climactic and then the status quo is restored although it doesn't seem to make sense that Riker would be demoted back to commander.

Q Who”, TNG Season 2
“The Best Of Both Worlds I”, TNG Season 3
“Scorpion I”, VOY Season 3

Eliminating Scorpion. A great up but against best of all time level eps.

Q Who”, TNG Season 2
“The Best Of Both Worlds I”, TNG Season 3

I was going to vote on the final one, but I find myself unable to because they are equally great.

I will let someone else have the honor.

I'll eliminate Q Who then, leaving The Best Of Both Worlds I as the winner!

Q Who is wonderful as well. BOBW has is it all, however. The tension throughout about the devastating way the Borg have been carving through colonies on their way to Earth. The element of Riker's career progression, giving the episode a very personal touch when Picard is assimilated and he suddenly finds himself in charge. Of course, we then see when Picard is undergoing assimilation, a tear falls down his cheek. At the end, the confrontation between Riker and Locutus, who, like Picard, calls him Number One. "Mr. Worf, fire!"

All of that, with an amazing Ron Jones score, that really puts chills down your spine no matter how many times you watch the episode.

Wow, VOY had 18 Borg-centric episodes (not to mention all the ones where Seven's Borg tech/knowledge saves the day)! No wonder they started to feel overused.

Ah, the Borg, they did peak early. :bolian: BOBW I is a great winner, it seems like the rare classic episode that doesn't also have a faction of passionate detractors as well.

Thanks again for playing, all! Going up shortly: The Least Disliked Klingon Episode. That's a much longer list, and one where I really have no idea what's going to win...
