The Latest on the Batman

ETA: And if you are going to avoid my info behind the spoiler tag, definitely do NOT scroll down this page to read some of the comments. It seems that the idea and use of the spoiler tag has not yet spread to everyone here at this forum. And they are posting rather blatant spoilers outside of a tag and just stating there will be spoilers and spacing down a few lines. If this has diminished the story for you in any way, I do apologize. This was not my intent as I even went to the trouble of making the thread title spoiler-free.

What's the point of making a topic spoiler free when it's purpose is to DISCUSS the spoiler. Forcing everyone to use spoiler tags every post is just a hassle. You should have just had the words "SPOILERS" in the title and gotten it over with.

Because Batman appears in mediums other than just comic books, such as the current Brave and the Bold cartoon as well as a thriving film franchise that has fans waiting to hear the about a possible next installment, for one. Second being that the story in question had been on the stands for less than 24 hours and my post contained a link to several pages of art from the book that were taken out of the context of the larger story. It just didn't seem right to start a discussion and not take every precaution not to spoil the story for those that may enter the thread in error.

Also, I have been on this board for MANY years (yes, even predating YOUR join date) and have seen people complain about being spoiled even with putting the word "spoiler" in the thread title and the posts and then spacing down a few lines. VBulletin comes with a nice spoiler tag feature and was one of the reasons the TrekBBS shifted to it last year, and it takes about as much effort to use as including a link in a post.

Now would you like to actually contribute to the discussion?

Can't say this is too surprising, though disappointing at the same time. I think my main problem with it is that this event doesn't feel like it fits in with the character. Sure, perhaps Christopher Nolan has spoiled us with a vision of Batman in a realistic setting as opposed to the sort of Batman we saw in the Justice League cartoons, but this doesn't feel right.
