The Killing Game

Lucy of Nine

Commander
Red Shirt
Just watched it... was quite bored by it all actually... probably one of my least favourites... BUT the question I had, was that when Harry made the holo-emitters overload near the end, and all the 'bad nazi's' disappeared... why was it that the crew was still left standing in the holographic street??? Shouldnt that have disappeared too??? Bah humbug... lol.

Wow, I like Killing Game; so much to see! Including J. Paul Boehmer, yum. Jeri Ryan singing and in an evening gown... Nice effects; I need to rewatch it. I enjoy seeing them all as WWII characters; I've watched a lot of war movies.

^ I liked them, until they started reminding me of the Predators... but thats more in lit, I still think they're kinda neat... lifestyle usually seems archaic, which made this episode intriguing to me.

^ ^ Didn't you see Band of Brothers? That was some drama; and full of good looking, young, strong, well...I'm sure you see where I'm going with that.

To answer the OP, it would probably would have looked weird, after all the fighting, bloodshead..ect. To just go back an undamaged holodeck would have looked as if nothing at all had happened, it also possible that enough ships systems were damaged that the entire grid could not be brought back online. Or mabey it was just bad writing...:)

Guys, I'm pretty sure the OP is joking.

This episode had my favourite quote in all of Trek:

(Pointing to a swastika banner.) "Look at our destiny. The field of red; the purity of German blood. The blazing white circle of the Sun that sanctified that blood. No-one can deny us; no power on Earth or beyond. Not the Christian savior, not the God of the Jews. We are driven by the very force that gives life to the Universe itself."

Noo.. no not joking. It's one of my least favourite episodes... but then again, I am a girly girl, so the whole shoot em up Nazi thing isn't really my kind of thing... :)
(Although I dont mind the odd shoot em up Borg/Viidian/insert any baddie here, so I guess that makes no sense...)

I think there are two distinct sets of holo-emitters. One generates characters that require a lot of movement and computational resources. The other generates the setting which is less resource heavy. This explains why the characters always disappear first whenever they "end program."

I agree with Lucy of Nine, the two parter was stupid and boring. A dull mess that mires an otherwise excellent Season Four that is much better than I remembered. Jeri Ryan was a very nice singer and she looked cute in her black resistance costume though.

This is one of the more overrated two-parters imo and looks like an excuse to re-use some expensive Nazi sets. ;)

Not that it wasn't entertaining for what it was but I prefer two-parters like "Basics" or "Equinox" where the storyline is a lot more plausible.

I liked Killing Game, one of my fave season four episodes. And s4 is one of my favourite seasons of Voyager. But then, I love war movies, so, different strokes for different folks, i guess...

My problem with this episode is ; if they could refit the ship with holo-emitters and extend the holodecks, why couldn't they have done so for the doctor's benefit in the first season? They tried, if I recalled correctly and failed.

I liked the Killing Game. I just never could understand the inconsistency.

True. Voyager may get the short end of the stick a lot, but it did come up with the goods a lot, when it did a two-part episode.
