The Jendersen Script finally leaked?

Some interesting ideas there. Since it won't ever make to the screen, I wouldn't mind seeing it done as a novel.

While the script by no means sounds perfect, and appears to be riddled with action-fuelled, Michale Bay-esque cliches (NX-Omega? Tiberius Chase? The USS Spartan? Give me a break), I'd say it was on the right track to what Enterprise should have been and with some refining (Hopefully by someone with an smidgin of talent for interpersonal relationships while keeping an eye on speedy action and the ability to properly pace something, just throwing a name out here, but maybe Bryan Singer), it could have been really good.

I actually mourn the loss of this movie, if it had been allowed to progress further it could have been really sweet. Whether that would make it a success is another question altogether.

the whole Tiberius Chase stuff sounds lame, but the general idea sounds fascinating. I like the bit about the love letters in particular.

I love the idea of Earth refusing to surrender the Vulcans even if it means their destruction also.

I also like how different it is, rather than just another Trek movie that rips off the format of Wrath of Khan.

I love the idea of an epic Romulan War movie, although I'm not sure this would have been it. Still, it had some good ideas and I LOVE having Shran making an appearance.

Berman's involvement, however, would have made it very difficult for anything really daring to end up on screen.

I personally have no problem with the character of Tiberius Chase, infact I also find it incredibly interesting, it's just the name that gets me. The same with the NX-Omega and the Spartan, great concepts, just poorly named (though I'd scale down the Omega's top speed, but that's just a geeky, nitpicky thing ).

And the idea of the UESN also sounds like an incredible addition to the universe, making up for the completely wussy Starfleet established in Enterprise (great dig at them too :rommie:). The Coalition of Planets follow-up sounds great too, as well as the epic feel it seems to be setting up. And the Berman thing may have been moot if they could have gotten a decent director for this, someone with vision, willing to stand-up for the movie THEY want to make. Hopefully without turning it into Pearl Harbour in space.

The movie even sounds like it has a decent theme, which has been missing from the recent movies.

That sounds like it could make a pretty entertaining movie, but it is not Star Trek. Sorry, I don't want to drag this into a "what makes Star Trek Star Trek?" dabate, but that just does not feel like Star Trek to me. Still, it's a pretty good idea which I think Jendresen should re-work into a non-Trek movie.

And please change the name of the USS Spartan. I now got an image of Gerard Butler playing Tiberius Chase sitting on the bridge screaming "This is SPARTAN!!!!!"

Sweet! I've been wanting to know about this project for a real long time. My thoughts:

The omega doesn't sound too bad. I mean, if fits with the NX-Alpha and Beta established with Ent's "First Flight." It does seem, however, that it would go a little too fast for the era (and that TATV talks about warp seven ships at being the new thing), but that is really a small, geeky thing.

That's funny that Archer and Co. would be at Risa. That's kinda lame, but oh well. I guess it depends how it is mentioned. It would probably be best left unmentioned.

I still don't get the problem with the "Tiberius Chase" name. If the character works, the name will work. It is no more silly sounding than "Spock" or "Odo" or "Riker".

Interesting that Shran would be in there. I wonder what capacity. And Admiral Gardner, apparently. I wonder if they would have the same guy who played Mirror-Gardner or just recast the role (not that it was a big one in the episode, mind you).

Overall, this would have been great. I mean, there would be a lot of stuff to iron out before doing a finished project, but it is totally a great starting point.

Too bad we'll never see this come to light, in either screen or book form. I hope the full script gets leaked out. I would still like to read it.

Hey guys. I think this is probably most appropriate to the STIX Forum. Hang on to your seats - an exciting Tiberius chase in the USS Spartan coming up! Oh dear.

Hey, my grandmother's last name was Riker! What's so funny about it?

This seems to have some great ideas mixed in with some groaners, but at least someone was thinking outside the box.

The problem with the name Tiberius Chase isn't that it's weird, it's that it's so forced.

It screams, 'Look at me! I have an incredibly kewl and exciting name! I'm so badass! Watch me blow the badguys away!'

Of course that's just what I think when I hear it, but I don't think I'm alone on this. :D

If you're going to create a character, he has to have a name that is believable and fits him, otherwise no one will take him seriously. It'd be like if Jack Bauer was called Joe Kicksumass. People would laugh and it'd take you out of the action.

Otherwise the character sounds fine, it's just that name...

Yes, it screams "fanboy trying and failing to make a kewl sounding name" to me also.

Funny how AICN has "leaked" the script only a week or so after those "I would really love to see the script for The Beginning in one form or another, like a book or an annotated Internet release" threads were posted on this forum.

The ideas in that report sounded good, though Tiberius Chase came off a little one-dimensional, and I didn't buy the reason that the Romulans attacked Earth for (then again, no reason for the cause of the war will ever satisfy me, having thought about it since seeing BoT).

Yea, the overall concepts I was reading were alright, but it smacked of needing someone other than George Lucas' children to name the characters.

/Newt Gunray vs. Tiberius Chase in a steel cage match! Live on pay-per-view!

Speaking as a New Zealander, I can confidently say that I've never heard of (and doubtfully ever will hear of) the Maori surname Ogg. Ogg? Shessh.

Thanks StarMan, I'd forgotten about that - wish I could forget about it again. But, if the movie had been made I'd hope they would have actually had a proper go at giving the characters names, and maybe we then would have been given a Maori character without an incredibly insulting name.

I love this idea. I have always wanted to see a Romulan War movie on the big screen. They should make this into a mini series or direct to DVD or a book. Would be great.
