The IT Crowd This Week

Just finished watching this week's ep in which Roy and Moss attempt to infiltrate a gang of "real men".

HILARIOUS!!!!!

Now THIS is what I am talking about. After a slightly below average start to the new series they spring back with one of the funniest episodes of the entire run. At least part of the reason for the humour this week was the complete absence of the boss with that very annoying voice. I find his character to be obnoxious and very odd and resent the fact they are shoehorning him into the show when he is not needed.

Anyway, the kissing scene had me with tears rolling down my cheeks. The second time it happened and the what seemed like neverending series of police cars that raced past them just made it even funnier!!!

I also loved the quick cuts they do, this time to the soccer match and the non-plussed looks on the guys' faces. They made use of this very much in my all time favourite episode about the gay musical and it worked just as well here. I also thought it was very funny that they were showing those kinds of men as loutish and unintelligent, since I similarly cannot stand sport and the prominence the great unwashed put on it. Thus I was cracking up at Moss's comments,

"He's got the ball....now he's kicking it to somebody else.....apparently that deserved a round of applause.....?!?"

Good stuff.

THIS kind of episode is what made this show hilarious in the past and I can only hope they keep this level of quality up.

This is almost a perfect companion series to The Big Bang Theory - the characters are similar but the comedy is so different.
Anyway, this episode reminded me completely of its Father Ted roots... it's all good fun. :)

I actually like the boss, especially in his near death experience or when he finds his dad's gun, and found the actor who played him to be also absolutely hilarious in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

Got to love Moss' "proper man" voice.

Yeah that was impressive for him, but how long does it take to count staples anyway? that was very Vampire-OCD-Seedcounting kinda thing.

I thought Jen was a bit underused but her Magician boyfriend b-plot was pretty good.

I love the IT Crowd, this was a brilliant episode. Im so glad Season 3 is kicking off well, i had feared it wouldn't be as good as previous seasons, but its looking much better.

Myself was disapointed that Matt Berry wasn't in this episode, i love his character (and generally most hings Matt Berry does).

I also thought Moss's kiss was the most hilarious homosexual thing on television. Was done alot better than the Boosh's attempt. Usually this stuff makes me uncomfortable but that was hilarious.

they are both shows that have me laughing out loud, and banging on the chair arm in an attempt to stop myself, so I dont miss any more of the jokes.

anyways I liked this episode as well, being a guy who isnt in to football, the before mentioned Moss's comments about the football game were good as well

Jen is pretty under utilised this season. She needs to be involved with the boys more, rather than run off with her own seperate storyline.

I would love to see 1, 2 or all 3 of them trapped in an elevator.

I thought it was a vast improvement over last week's and most of last season to be honest. Not having the focus on Matt Berry definitely helped. As much as I think he's great, he just seems too forced in The IT Crowd.

The only thing I wasn't too happy with was three uses of a certain F word. I could let the first or the second one slip as they were part of the joke, but the third was unnecessary. I watch it with some older and some younger members of my family, and I don't think either should be subjected to it, especially since we know they don't have to resort to it. (I will admit, the use of it in the first season was funny).

Wow, I only even noticed one, and I thought it was great. "Fuck off Harry!" just seemed so right with all the trouble he got in to with talking football.
