"The Invention of Lying" - Ricky Gervais

It isn't an outrageously funny movie, in fact it can be uncomfortable due to how the characters are just bluntly truthful.

The people I saw it with thought it was an odd movie, personally I didn't mind it.

Not a fan, perhaps something that would have served better as a short story. But then again I'm not a Gervais fan so I don't think it's aimed at me

That was my main problem with it. So you cant lie? Doesnt mean you have to blurt out the first thing in your head and ignore how hurtful it could be.

I kind of slowly became a Gervais fan. I initially didn't care for his stand-up, but then I saw that movie he did with Greg Kinnear (Ghost Town? I think?) and was very quietly impressed with what I thought was a very solid comedic performance. I've since then gotten into his other projects and even started to enjoy his stand-up a little more.

So, this does look pretty damn interesting to me.

I generally love Gervais. I love his old stuff from The 11 O'Clock Show, I love The Office, I love his standup, and Extras is very good

Granted I haven't seen this, so I can only go by the trailer, but it looks (like Ghost Town did) awful. Just looks like he's sold out to Hollywood with some unfunny crap. Oh and that Simpsons episode he did was awful too.
Maybe I'll catch it when it's on TV and see what it's like, but no way was I gonna pay to see this
