I came across this on YouTube. You might get a kick out of it, wish this is how it should've been, or think it sucks. Take your pick.

I didn't know the show had that many external space shots of the Discovery. I think that may have been all of them.
Meh.
The silliest thing they did was in DS9's final season, the first three episodes had Nicole de Boer listed as "Ensign Ezri Dax" and then for the remaining episodes, since she was officially assigned to the station and promoted, the credits were changed to now say "Lieutenant Ezri Dax." Really, they could have saved themselves some work by just listing "Nicole de Boer as Ezri Dax" for all the episodes and no one would have cared.Incidentally, I always thought it was odd including the ranks in the title sequences. Just highlighted how much of a crew roster trope the shows' premises were. The ranks so rarely had direct relevance to a story, and yet they are one of the pieces of information they chose to include in the titles every week. DS9 even skipped first names in favour of more space for ranks, 'Terry Farrell as Lt. Commander Dax'.
I like! And, it amuses me they included Detmer in the credits, since in the 90s someone like her would have been in the main cast despite not having anything relevant to contribute to any of the episodes beyond "Aye Sir" and associated bridge jargon.

Incidentally, Voyager actually did drop the ranks in the credits starting in the fourth season, with the exception of "Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway."
