This thread and poll is a continuation from the thread found here. You may vote for five (5) logos. Since there are multiple entries from some participants, please double check that you marked the correct poll entries before hitting “Vote”. All votes are final and can not be changed if you made an error.

Please be aware this poll is not a competition. I posted it to gauge what the BBS member's tastes are on the subject. I am also curious to see what you are attracted to in terms of style and look. Or in other words, this is for my own idle curiosity.

The poll will be open for one week and will close on Wednesday, September 29. And feel free to continue contributing logos in the original thread if you are inspired too. Just because you missed the poll doesn’t mean you can’t still participate.

(And please remember this thread is for fun and not affiliated with the owner or administration of this message board. The Powers-That-Be are not looking for a logo.)

^ With most of the entries coming from a few people it just looks like a lot. There are only ten people participating. This is also something that people can churn out quickly. Most of the Art Contests require a little more time and energy, which is why I never enter them. Between two jobs and a personal life, my time is very limited.

You're right, but 10 people is still a lot more than the usual number that enters. Hmm, maybe we should try to keep some of the monthly contest topics a bit simpler. I do remember a past one where we redesigned the TNG communicator, and that had a lot of entries.

Hmm I count 12 peeps and there would have been 13 if the time between the announcement and the start of the poll had been more than a few days

No worries tho, lots of good stuff here.

Went with simple, clean designs for the most part since I favor minimalistic web interfaces that load quickly. In fact, if the current TrekBBS logo had been a part of the poll, it too would have received a vote, tho I would have had a very, very difficult time deciding which of my seven choices it would replace. As it was, choosing seven out of so many wonderful choices was damn near impossible.

I have just been going over the numbers and I am a little surprised that folks are more drawn to the TOS inspired logos. That outcome, even this early in the polling, is curious. I felt sure that either the more modern entries or the ones based on the latest movie would be leading the pack. Fascinating...

The results, so far, may be more indicative of the Trek Art crowd than anything. I get the feeling there's a definite swing toward TOS in this part of the board - not that there's anything wrong with that, I rather like it that way.

It'd be interesting to see how the same poll would run in General Trek or Misc.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Maybe I should talk to the other Mods and see. (It doesn't hurt to ask.)

And I have been sending everyone I could think of in here to vote, including all my BBS friends on Facebook. I am not sure if that has altered the poll results though.

Looking at recent monthly challenge polls: the largest number of voters was 35, but most of the time it's only ~20.

And so far we have 40 voters in this poll... so, it seems to be attracting more people than usual.
