The House/Wilson Dynamic

I've started watching through S5 of House on DVD and the House/Wilson dynamic has always been a great and powerful one through out this series mostly from Laurie's and Leonard's way of acting off one another and having perfect dramatic/comedic timing off each other.

(Wilson has just told House he's leaving PPTH due to the lingering pain of CTB's death...)

House: "You of all people should know that this is bereavement 101, you think that a change in venue..."

Wilson: "Well, that spares me decades of psycho-analysis."

H: "I'm not saying you're not in pain..."

W: "...you're saying my pain's a cliche."

H: "I'm saying that pain fades."

W: "Did yours?"

H: "Physical pain is different."

W: "I'd rather have my leg chopped off..."

H: "You don't know that because you haven't felt..."

W: "Neither have you."

[significant looks between them until 13 bursts in and ruins the mood.]

That was a good scene but they never really did that Amber storyline enough justice until recently and even then it was a little too late.

I dunno, it was interesting how much impact her death really had, all-things considered.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Amber was ever that interesting? It actually kinda' annoys me every time they "bring her back."

Anne Dudek rocks. She's excellent in Mad Men and as Albie's power hungry new wife on Big Love.

As for House/Wilson, I agree. Wilson is the one person House has consistently given two shits about. No one else comes close. Wilson being angry at him is the only disapproval that shakes House up. I'll never forget House just staring off into space, stunned, when Wilson said they were never really friends and Wilson walked away from him. Losing his friend matters.

Did you sleep with her?
Yes.
Seriously?
No. House, you need help.
You *did* sleep with her.
*pause* Yes....I did.
Seriously?
No.
