It's just so damn boring. It wouldn't be so bad if it was weird and off-putting but it also had decent pacing. As it is, hearing people describe it is way more fun, even in exhaustive detail as on the late Agony Booth website (pivot to video, my ass! You'll pay for that one, Zuckerberg!).

It was pure 1978 cheese. I watched it first time around, so have a bit of a soft spot for it. It can't be taken seriously of course.

Some Star Wars fans love the idea of seeing the main characters in live action in a state between ANH and TESB. Others might be old enough to remember watching it first run, and perhaps get a sense of nostalgia about the way SW was presented when it was still a relatively raw concept and not a "saga".
