The Guardian of Forever site closes!

No way! The best site for Star Trek ship pictures and art and it's all gone! No other site could match the resources of it. I'm sure others here will miss it too since we used it so often on TrekBBS for discussions.

Will be missed indeed.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the demise of the Guardian of Forever. It is fitting that
I close this site this year, the 10th anniversary. It has been a long, fruitful and fun journey!

I want to thank you all for all your cooperation over the years. A very special thanks
goes to all of you who contributed so much by sending me so many screencaps!

But, in the end, there doesn´t seem to be any place on the net anymore for pure fan-sites.
It takes too much work for one man. And there is so little response from visitors...

He's right though, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a "pure" fansite anymore. Everyone wants to be the next big thing and outdo the other guy.

Yeah he does have a point but still I can't think of any other Star Trek site that had such a massive amount of Starship pictures. It was great for reference.

Thanks for the sentiments guys, it was not an easy decision to make. But it had to be done. And I won´t come back for a good while..

I didn't even know it existed! After STINSV closed, there was nowhere else for me to find a comparable site. I wonder if this site could have been the one. Either way, it's sad to see it go.
