The Great Falidax Class vessel

jaspertjie

Captain
Captain
Although it looks very impressive, it is not the flagship of the Maraxxian Empire (my empire). The real flagship is 21km long. This one is 45km.

I have spent around 5 hours of work on this and the program got all laggy etc... If you look good at the hull plating you maybe can see the windows of the crew compartiments. They are hard to see in seperate, but if you zoom in you see it. Armory is magnificent! You can see whole rows of photon-torpedo launchers and very large phasers. On the three enbankments around the bridge you can see pulse-cannons.
Also, you see those tiny spots on the left and right of the ship? That are the Enterprise E and the Stockholm. Just for comparison. :cool:http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=36a2310e697e4f5edee45c03db8b5689

Just so you know: there's an export function in the program, under File --> Export --> 2D Graphic. Gives you a higher quality as well ;)

Gee, I didn't knew SU was translated to Dutch as well. Not that I would use it (using the english version of CS4 as well) but it's pretty cool that the program is becoming so widespread that UI translations are actually being made :)

Really thanks about the 2D for noticing me! It will help me.

Okay, just out of curiousity... what's the point of a ship this large? Seriously... what missions does it undertake that require it to be that big?

This is a common complaint of mine... "mine's bigger" type thinking in design. A ship should only be as large, as powerful, as fast, as is required to do what it's supposed to do. Not one gram heavier... not one millimeter longer... not one joule more powerful.

So... sell us on WHY it's this big.

At least there is one next to each planet to mass transport people if there is need for evacuation, also it can serve as a planetary bombardement system. And no I'm not thinking the mine's bigger way, just that it's a big ship. That's all.
PS.: And I love kebab too!!!

It really looks like someone just looked at a picture of a Klingon dagger, and thought it'd make a neat ship.
