The Good Fight Season 3

Err...wow.

The last few episodes have demonstrated why people like the Kings get to run TV shows and why people like me just watch them. They were going somewhere with most of that stuff, and on the whole it was somewhere pretty damned good. The show is well and truly back on track IMO. Looking forward to next season - whenever that will be.

1. Maia driving off into the sunset with someone as morally and ethically contemptible as Blum was pretty damned weak. I've no idea if Rose Leslie wanted to leave or what but I didn't much care for where the character went this season, and her betrayal of Marissa was despicable.

2. If Kurt dies, though, I'll be beyond disgusted. Livid would be too mild a word, too.

As much as I complained about the early part of the season, they pulled it together and by the end I'll be damnded if I wouldn't watch a Blum and Maia spinoff series.

The Problem with that is that they can never do it, and there will never be a will they won't they relationship because he's awful and she's a lesbian... But she might let him watch? It's not essential, but having the leads fall for one another, like Rizzolli and Isles, is a comforting plot device, even if it always ruins everything, and then it's 80 times worse when one of them inevitably gets pregnant.

I'm looking at you BONES!!!!

I think Kurt is going to murder the entire SWAT team. Then he's on trial for killing 10 cops in 9 seconds, but I've seen this before, if you raise your gun to an unknown threat and it turns out to be a cop, you have to pull the trigger, or they will, a lot. Oh, and Diane won't be able to defend her husband (in court) because she will be in trouble for putting an axe inside a police officer's head.

Gary Cole also lost Veep this week. Fam is cancelled as well.

Never Mind.

This ####er is always going to get another new job.

If you're saying the ending of the season redeems it I'll start watching again. I stopped after ep 4.

One thing. First two seasons they named their episodes "Day X". This season it's "The one with X", like with Friends.

Did they specifically copy Friends just to be cute and silly?

I think they change up the episode name format every season. The first season was word numbering: Episode 1's title had 1 word, Ep 2 had 2 words and so on through Ep 5, then Ep 6 also had 5, Ep 7 had 4, and they reversed back down to 1. This follows how The Good Wife operated, where Season 1 titles had one word, Season 2 two words, etc. Second season was Day whatever, and season three was the Friends format. I would imagine season four will have something completely different.

This catches me a bit by surprise...

Season one is being given a "trial run" on broadcast CBS this summer.

The first two episodes will air Sunday, June 16 at 9/8c, followed by Episodes 3 and 4 on Sunday, June 23 at the same time. Beginning on Sunday, June 30, The Good Fight moves to 10 pm, where it will air its remaining episodes.

The article headline uses the "trial run" phrasing, while the body notes it's meant to draw more attention to CBS All Acces. Seems like a decent way to do it, I suppose, as an even heftier version of the Discovery premiere attempt.
