While I'm not a Bayern Munich fan, I'm happy that they won today. May teams like PSG and Manchester City never enjoy the glory of a Champions League trophy as long as their current ownerships are in place.
Watching the Iceland v England match and the announcers are calling Iceland "well organized." What that really means is that they have parked the team bus in front of their goal and stall shamelessly at every dead ball situation. I believe they are hoping for a 0-0 draw.
They started the season with a 2-0 defeat with 0 shots on target. Last season saw us implode and throw away a playoff spot to return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999. Our form over the last 20 games is borderline relegation territory.
1. Liverpool
2. Man City
3. Chelsea
4. Arsenal
5. Man U
6. Wolverhampton
7. Spurs
8. Everton or Leicester
This season will see a much closer fight between Liverpool and City than last season for the title but eventually Liverpool edging past Man City for the title.
Chelsea have signed like 6 new players for this season but i don't consider Lampard in the same class as Klopp and Pep and so they will end up third.
Arsenal under Arteta has done well especially with winning two trophies recently. Arteta's training and tactics has improved Arsenal greatly. So a top 4 placing for them.
Man U have good players but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Is not consistent as a manager and they will end up as fifth.
Wolverhampton will continue their Giant killing ways. Their manager has done very well despite their smaller budget. He was my favourite manager in the EPL last season.
Spurs have both the talented players and exprienced manager but they are limited by the lack of funds. They just opened a brand new stadium last year but are unable to fill it due to covid-19 restrictions. That loss of a revenue stream coupled with the issue of loan repayment for the new stadium means that Spurs will be financially restricted for some time.
Everton and Leicester are smaller but well managed clubs just like Wolves. They can challenge for the top 8 placing.
