The Glass House

Danny99

I've been watching this show on ABC and felt compelled to speak out on one of it's major topics.

It's resident gay man Jeffrey and the Mormon Andrea got into a heated exchange because she voted against gay marriage. He has used every cliche in the book about how she is discriminatory and all this, whereas she has basically said "Look, this is how I believe and I would hope people respect my beliefs."

And for once, I'm with a religious person. I am absolutely revolted by Jeffrey. He has basically taken the Rainbow Flag and charged into battle. One of the basic human rights is the right to free choice and to believe what they believe. The fact that Andrea decided to vote against it is her belief and her right.

Anyone bothering with this show? Anyone have a theory?

I would have thought that after Hitler cooked all those gays in the 40s that homsexuallity would have died out. I mean if they don't have enough breeding pairs how do they maintain thier numbers? It's almost like even if Hitler had killed all the homosexuals that they would have found a way back. Like extinction is too good for them. That's frackking unnatural. I mean, if you killed all the mormons, and burnt all their books, I think that thier religion would probably stay dead. It's not like God would come back down and rewrite the book for a new prophet becuase he's made up and Smith was a conartist.

So really how can something as transitory as religion have the impertinance to mock something else as immortal as homosexuality? In ten thousand years, guys are still going to be blowing guys but Jesus and America are going to be forgotten.

It's just a little pathetic.

The mouse that roared.

Jeffrey is correct. He's just an ass about how he's getting his point across. It's hypocritical at best for a woman who belongs to a faith that encourages men to have multiple wives to vote against someone else being able to marry.

It's actually really simple. Two consenting adults - of any gender - should have the right to be married. If they don't, then why should anyone?

There are so many logical inconsistencies and ethical misjudgements in this passage that I don't know where to start.

Leviticus makes out that it's really important to track down any one who worships the fire god Baal and destroy them. It doesn't matter the cost or the consequences, Baal and Baal worshippers must be put to a final bloody smoking end.

DEATH TO BAAL!!!

Later there was some minor mention about fortune tellers and dudes getting off with dudes.

But honestly, watching Stargate whenever Baal would turn up, didn't it make you snigger?
