Spoilers The Gifted - Season 2

Its that time of the year for a new thread for a new season. Tuesday at 8PM EST a new episode drops. Let it not be said that the last one did not end with a bang. The new one plans on serving up a six month time jump and start on the outskirts of Washington DC.

It wasn't flawless, but I did enjoy Season 1 enough to look forward to Season 2.

Season 1 did have some issues, but overall I liked it. Season 2 is the only superhero show I'm interested in this TV season, so hopefully its good.

Just watched it. Fairly good premiere and it's moderately better than previous episodes, but it still has clunky dialogue and characters doing stupid shit for the sake of doing stupid shit. Obligatory cheesy pop song played right on cue, unfortunately.

That said, I enjoyed the power dynamics of the characters in the Hellfire Club and the Mutant Underground. The Stepford Cuckoos are still my favorite characters while the Strucker kids remain the most frustrating. I loved the partnership between Marcos and Caitlin when the confronted the Internet guy (I forget his name) and the friendship was one of the best things that developed in the first season, so I'm glad to see that continue here. "Don't do drugs!"

I thought I recognized the actress playing Reeva Payge, but I checked, and I've never seen her before. I think it's just that her hair and makeup remind me of someone, and I believe it's Janelle Monae.

It's weird that they'd do that whole scene setting up how Blink couldn't use her powers when she had contact lenses in, and then never have it become a plot point. Was there a deleted scene? Or are they setting something up for a later episode and plan to replay that bit of dialogue in the recap?

Just watched it. A nice set-up to the new season. Caitlin seems to be going a bit off the deep end when it comes to find Andy. (Note the worried looks both her husband and daughter give her when, despite Polaris tearing the city apart with her contractions, she's still fixated solely on finding Andy.)

Curious to see what the father's powers are going to be . . . .

For some reason I thought this was season three.

Still feels like the same show, lots of cool stuff, lots of awkward and clunky stuff, and I suspect they still don't know what to do with Agent Turner.

Heh, I completely forgot about him (wasn't paying attention to the credits) and he certainly was not missed at all.

Looks like nobody watched it?
Oh, I watched season one (two starts soon over here) and it was hard going. The show was so painfully...average.

It did pick up somewhat when the Cuckoo's arrived though (can we have the other two ?) so fingers crossed for season two.

Did anybody notice who directed the first episode?

It was Robert Duncan McNeil aka Tom Paris......

I enjoyed it overall. Even though I hate what she is doing to Marco I can understand why you would need to spend big bucks on the birth. If they attempted this in some hideout no way it would have worked.

He also got an executive producer credit. Which might mean he's a "producing director," a director who's attached to a series on an ongoing basis and supervises the other episode directors to give it a consistent style and look. His other executive producer credits on IMDb are also for series he's directed, though that doesn't prove it.

Pretty good start to the season. The stuff with the Inner Circle was pretty good.
Caitlin and Marcos talking with the hacker guy (Wire) was good.
Damn, I didn't realize Polaris's pregnancy had made her that powerful.
Caitlin was getting a little scary obsessed with finding Andy.

Second lowest rated episode for The Gifted, which is a bad sign for a season premiere. 2.58 million watched the premiere, higher only than episode 11 of season one, which was watched by 2.54. Episodes 12 and 13 had a huge ratings jump (they were aired together as a 2 hour finale)

I honestly didn't realize it was returning this week. Thank goodness my DVR recorded it automatically.

S2E1 was an utter snore-fest. I was so bored that I could hardly concentrate on what was going on.

"He's your brother."
"... I know him better than you could possibly imagine."
:barf:

I'll probably give it one or two more episodes to pick up... if I can remember to watch them.
