The follow-up to Star Wars: Legacy is...

...well, it's not really a literal follow-up, except in the sense it's made by the same folks who did Legacy.

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi

In 2006, a creative team already well-entrenched in "Star Wars" lore set their sights on the far future of the Skywalker line, chronicling the adventures of rebellious Jedi Cade Skywalker in "Star Wars: Legacy." Now, writer John Ostrander and artist Jan Duursema will take a step back, all the way to the very earliest days of the Jedi Order. Thursday at New York Comic Con, Dark Horse announced "Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi," an ongoing series of 5-issue miniseries launching February 1 with an introductory #0 issue, with #1 following two weeks later. In an era before lightsabers, before adherents of the Force were divided into light and dark, what does it mean to be a Jedi? And how did the Order first come to be?

Sounds reasonably intriguing.

Sounds like the original idea Lucas and Kurtz had for Episode I back in the 80s (according to Kurtz's outline of the 'original' nine-part saga).

I wonder how it'll all tie in with the Tales of The Jedi/Knights of the Old Republic stuff, as well as the films.

Let's ammend that to "the original idea Lucas had for Episode I back in the 80s". Kurtz contributed dick creatively to the Saga.

Surprising that they'd go back that far. That's almost 25,000 years before the movies. I wonder if the main villain will be Xendor, with the First Great Schism (when the first "dark Jedi" appeared) being the primary conflict. It should be interesting.

I'm more excited about Knights of the Old Republic: War. The greatest Star Wars comic series ever is back!

I'm very interested in this, and will be keeping a very close eye on it. I haven't read any SW comics in a while, but I plan on getting back to them soon.
