Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

As I dimly recall, isn't it the Shadow Thief who has the over the eons animosity with the Hawks, and not Savage?
It was Hastor Set, the priest who killed them in ancient Egypt who originally had eons of animosity . Shadow Thief is more associated with the Thanagarian Hawks and is a modern day villian. Savage was tied to the Hawks a while back, possibly in one the recent JSA series.

Overall the episode was reasonably enjoyable, but just like the last crossover, this one seemed to go out of its way to remind me exactly why I have no interest in watching Arrow. Also, sad to say, it's not looking good for LoT, either. Kendra was decent, but not particularly great. That Hawkman was terrible. It's not a character I ever read in the comics, so I won't comment on the accuracy, but it's definitely not a character I want to watch every week. Combine that with the fact that Prof. Stein is another character who's just decent, and that the new half of Firestorm, while better than Ronnie and possibly one of the best characters the show's going to have starting up, still doesn't seem like he could carry a show (and the same goes for the Atom) and I really don't see what's supposed to make this show interesting.

So, to clarify, this is going to be one of those crossovers that's only resolved in the other show? If I want to know how it ends do I have to watch this week's Arrow or next week's?

Anyway, moving back to the Flash - the show's treatment of Patty is becoming extremely tiresome. Cisco blurts out Barry's secret in random public places to people he's know less than a month, but the woman whose job it is to hunt down metahumans and back up Joe isn't allowed to know anything, even when she's clearly stumbled onto something herself. If she doesn't get the truth next week, then I don't even know what to think anymore.

I am pretty sure that now she knows Dr. Wells is "back" she willl demand and get answers from Joe.
And if she doesn't she will get them on her own.
This is not the sort of thing she will overlook.

That was great.
I loved the stuff with the Hawks. The Hawkman/Arrow/Flash fight was really cool.
They've developed a great relationship between Barry and Oliver.
I was shocked we got so many Arrow cast members on the Flash. I was expecting maybe Oliver and Felicity, but not the whole cast. I was especially shocked to get a scene with Dahrk. I loved the magnetic arrow, I really wish they would do more gadget arrows like that.
Savage seems like he should be a pretty cool villain.
Having Cisco just blurt out Barry's name like that was kind of an annoying way to have Kendra learn Flash's identity. Cisco has been involved with the superheroics to do something that stupid.
I work tonight so I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow morning to see Arrow.:scream:

I get that Cisco revealed Barry with his blunder to Kendra.

But why the hell would all of team Arrow also reveal theirs to a stranger?

I actually liked that Carter's reconnection with Kendra was decidedly matter-of-fact and not at all romantic. They've done this 206 times. He's all "Hi, how are you? Someone's trying to kill us. Let's get down to business."

Given how insanely mixed together the casts and stories were for this episode, I really hope the DVD sets include the other episode of the crossover as a bonus material.

While I enjoyed the episode overall I found something a little off about Savage. While his portrayal in the comics has been all over the place in his history, there was always an underlying ferocity to the character that I think was missing here. This Savage was way to calm and suave in his demeanor.

I am not that familiar with Savage in the comics, but this version seems very similar to the version shown in the Timmverse/DCAU (example in the link below):

Yeah, having supporting cast randomly blurting out heroes' identities is getting to be a pattern in Berlanti shows.

Loved seeing Kendra get her wings.
Did I miss the bell ringing?

I think it will happen for sure if Supergirl loses viewers and enters cancellation regions and needs to be propped up.
New plan: Boycott Supergirl so we can get a crossover!

Having Malcolm appear from the shadows twice was rather needless.
Not when they got a joke out of it the second time.

As been pointed out before even Supergirl's lowest ratings are TWICE as large as The Flash! A crossover would getting some publicity but not at all ensure more people would watch Supergirl.

It's so hard to talk about Arrow because that was actually the first episode of Arrow I've ever watched. If they have to deal with the soap opera that is Felicity and Oliver every week, than I'm sorry. That was the weakest part of the episode for me. I like Felicity, but watching this show, it was almost like she was an entirely different character, and I know that's a strange perspective. It's a perspective of a fan of The Flash who doesn't watch Arrow and doesn't know the characters.

As to the Flash parts of this crossover, I liked the overall story, but I almost wonder if there could have been a third part somewhere. Things kind of felt a little rushed at the end, even though it was nice to see Barry travel through time again. Last time there was damage done after he did it so I hope The Flash addresses this part of the story in a future episode (Or even in the midseason finale). I also loved the stuff with Cisco and Kendra. I did find the stuff taking place in anchient Eygpt a little corny though.

Looking forward to the midseason finale, and a return of just The Flash. This Crossover was nice though, a nice change of pace and stuff. I still would love a Flash/Supergirl Crossover one day, even if it doesn't happen this season.

I don't think they're ever be a direct "crossover" in the strictest sense of the word. However, I do see two possibilities:

A) CBS calls it quits on the show but in a last-ditch effort sends it over to the step-child network and Supergirl is retconned in Arrowverse via multi-Earth shenanigans.

B) They have Benoist appear on Flash as Power Girl.

*Actually, if A happens it could very well be in the form of B. I see "Power Girl" as the more Ciscoish name.

The Multiverse storyline has opened up to new possibilities so that could make some sense. I would love to see Benoist on The Flash.

Supergirl is pulling in some really good ratings at CBS, so I doubt they're going to let it go that quickly or easily. OTOH, I can easily see Berlanti engineering a "Crisis" sort of plotline to reconcile everything if the opportunity arose.

You really want to mess with fan's heads? Bring in Laura Vandervoort as Power Girl . . ..

(Hey, if Brandon Routh can swap Superman for the Atom, why not?)

Okay, the first step to that, is by Supergirl finding Earth II.

Is DC going to let two of their shows harp on about probably completely different Earths, but call them both Earth 2?

;)

Well there's four different active live action Earth's if Supergirl isnt on Earth 2.

Flash/Arrow Earth
Zoom/Jay Garrett Earth "2"
Supergirl TV Earth
Superman vs Batman Earth.

Supergirl doesn't seem like it is same as movie Superman unless Man of Steel took place in the late 90s or Supergirl is in the 2030s

And I have no idea where Gotham fits in.
