Rita Farr, Elasti-Girl from the Doom Patrol?

Go back a few reboots.

Originally and currently known as Beast Boy, he was adopted by Elasti-Girl and Mento, members of the Doom Patrol. He later joined the West Coast team of the Teen Titans (known as Titans West), and was part of the New Teen Titans assembled by Raven. It was at this time that he took the name Changeling. He remained with various incarnations of the team, forming a close friendship with Cyborg.

The Doom Patrol hasn't really got a toe hold in the last 2 decades to establish these things before DC Editorial triggers another new Crisis.

Why on earth did I say StepMother?

Details:

The Jitters coffeehouse chain pre-dates the "New 52", as does the retcon re: Barry's mother being murdered by Zoom the First. The neighbourhood names on that map are from a role-playing game published in the 1980's and the street layout of the map itself is from Vancouver's own map.

Didn't she already appear? Wasn't there a reporter on TV right before the explosion, wasn't she named Linda Park?

That's just weird. If they were thinking of using Linda Park--which clearly they were, why didn't they just wait to cast her properly before using her?

It's a good example of what Christopher was talking about, sort of useless Easter Eggs.

And oddly, as I recall, they also used Linda Park in the original show too. Sigh, poor Linda, will never get her Wally West...

Parents name their kids after them all the time. Young Linda could be anywhere right now just waiting to appear. Johns said he prefers all his easter eggs as foreshadowing instead of just being tossed out there for the comic crowd.

Its a simple recast after the Pilot, no big deal. The Pilot was made months ago. The original actress probably got another job after that. It was a small role before the show was even picked up.

And that's a shame, too. Wally and Linda are one of my all-time favorite couples from comic books. Or at least, they were. Erasing their epic story from the New 52 history is unforgivable.

Speaking of Wally and Linda, I appreciated the naming of "Waid Boulevard" after Mark Waid in last week's episode. One of the best Flash writers of all time deserves a little nod on the show.

Malese Jow was my favorite part of Star-Crossed. I'm very pleased to hear she'll be Linda.

Of course, it's kind of a shame they didn't get Linda Park to play Linda Park.

Actress Olivia Cheng appeared as Linda Park on Arrow as well.

The recasting is either due to them wanting a higher profile actress in the part or because Cheng got a job on the new series Marco Polo.

Maybe they instinctively knew that fanboys' heads would collectively implode, creating a causality loop the likes of which has never been seen in this universe.

Hmmm, so I wonder if all three actresses will be treated as the same character, or if they'll act like she's never been around until Malese Jow's character comes in.
