The Five Stages of Acquistion and the Great Material Continnum

Tyjos Azari

Lieutenant Commander

Funny how this seems to be actually true[I seem to follow these stages monthly]

Infatuation -This usually is when you how shall we say are CRAZED to get what it is you want or simply must have it.
Justification-The old "This is WHY I need it" Self explantion.
Appropriation -When you Finally Get said Item that you want/lusted over.
Obsession- The old thing of being crazed and hyped over your new Possession
Resale- The unfortunate end, when you get over the crazed hype and find it's not that great or you grow tired of it and thus it is resold...

And the Great Material Continuum seems to go along with this too....

Very unevolved behaviour.;)

I never get sick of anything, I frequently massage my stereo, and it's eight years old.

I would get very excited over an Applemac, though. I'm dribbling now.;)

I'm with Cheapjack on this (the world may implode at any moment): I still own the first IBM PC I ever owned. I still own an Apple II.
The luster may wear off after a while, but it is is very rare that it wears so thin that I am willing to actually part with the thing.

I like apples cos they help you to think, better. They're not arcane. You spend less time getting to understand how they work and more time free to create and improve the human condition, by a nanojoule. You don't get that initial knot of tension in your chest as much with them, when you sit down, like you're trying to talk to a cold machine.
