The First Poster for INTO DARKNESS Has Just Been Revealed...

Very Nice avatar, Methos. :)

Now, remember:

You don't know anything about those accidents on Talos IV and Rigel VII... Mmkay.

Or Men In Black 2...or Men In Black 3...

Especially those.

Yeah, but when the two-headed man is Johnny Knoxville...I just dunno.

A person has their limits.

The poster looks too murky to be real (sorry haven't read the whole thread as I'm in a hurry atm)

BUT.. one thing for sure. Trek Into is the meme of the year, we'll be Trekking Into everything and it's dog until and after this movie comes out.

I've not read the whole thread.

Has anyone commented on the fact that the title lettering is NOT in the TOS lettering font? This seems odd, since they made so sure to use it for ST09.

yes, it's been confirmed as fan made... badly as well in my opinion...

how it ever fooled anyone is beyond me

M

Well the poster was so grainy and blurry it was hard to discern some details at first. Plus, reliable fan pages that usually get their facts and details correct were posting it...so the excitement just sort of carried me away with it.

Mea culpa. :p

On the bright side, the real first poster will be released any day now so this thread will still serve a legitimate purpose when it's finally made public. :)

Simon Pegg has become the first cast member to comment on the new movie title by tweeting (@simonpegg) that "Star Trek" is a verb, not a noun. He boldly confirms that the title is "Star Trek Into Darkness".

Except it's still a noun, unless that's interpreted as an imperative: "Star, trek into darkness!" It's just a noun that has a prepositional phrase added to it.

I star trek into darkness.
He/she/it star treks into darkness.
We star trek into darkness.
They star trek into darkness.

Now it's a verb. :p

Of course "Star Trek" is a verb. We already knew that from "Star Trekkin' across the universe..."

It looked to me like something a fan would do by taking the title to an extreme. Didn't think it was real for a moment, but I give it points for being artistic though...

I fell for it too!

It's a good fake. I really like how, from a distance, the cloudy vortex thing behind the Enterprise looks like a fearsome eye peering out through the arrowhead.

On the flip side, it also kinda looks like an ultrasound...

"Captain's Log, Stardate 2261.38...

Our journey to the center of the Placental Nebula has proven uneventful thus far. Our scheduled rendezvous with the vessel from Umbilicus II is just eight solar hours away."
