The Final Official Countdown to Season Seven

Status
Not open for further replies.
My original intention to finish the series this year has proven way too ambitious. I'm only 1/3 of the way through season 4 now, and at the rate I'm going I won't finish until next summer. However, the nice thing about this has been whenever I get to missing the show, I can just pop the next "new" episode in, without the depression that I've already finished all 7 seasons.

Cheers,
Beat

*gives this thread a little nudge* :D

So how are people doing with S7? Has anyone else finished it?
I was hoping this thread was still alive! I've watched up through "Prodigal Daughter". I like the house :D Now a truly captivating ep to me was "It's Only a Paper Moon". I had forgotten how deep this ep was, for both Nog & Vic. This has to be the only ep focused on a Ferengi that didn't have some humorous undertones. And to see Nog improve even when he didn't want to was moving. And I love the focus on Vic as a hologram who didn't realize how satisfying it is to just live a life rather than being cut on & cut off at any time. Nice ep indeed.

Yeah, I'm glad this thread is still going aswell. :) And yeah, I like the house in Prodigal Daughter aswell. I also love It's Only a Paper Moon. It's just such a good and sweet episode. I liked Vic from the start, but that was the ep where I went "Man I love this guy". :) He's just such an awesome character and the good thing is that he was comfortable with being a hologram. We never got the whole 'I wanna be more human' crap from him. We got plenty of that from Data and The Doc.

I watched another ep of Firefly today, so now I only have the last 4 eps to go. Which is a real bummer cos the show is sooo good. But, on the good side, when I'm done I can also watch all the eps that have a commentary and I can watch all the extras. :)
Yeah, this show was truly gone too soon. I think I've got 5 eps to go myself, including at least 3 I know I've never seen (cause they were never aired in the US). So it'll be really neat coming to the end. Unlike DS9, this ending I am disappointed about cause it never had the chance to really grow toward a proper ending. Not even a full season :( Oh well, maybe these DVDs will help grow interest and get us a satisfying movie. Or a trilogy! Yeah, those are popular these days!

Hehe, I'd settle for only one movie for now. :) But yeah, it really is a truly wonderful show and it definately deserves some sort of a continuation.

but I am reading the relaunch all over again in preparation for getting Unity for Christmas (I hope!). I'll be starting Abyss today. ;)

I've been reading MG - Twilight today. Good book, I'm 330 pages into it. :)

Bought R2 Season 7 today :)
just season 2 left to get...

ill probabbly start watching it after christmas. as i havent finished season 6 yet :)

Well, I finished Twilight earlier today and I gotta say I loved it. It started off a tad slow but in the end, I thought it was a great read. I already started This Gray Spirit which seems pretty interesting so far. :)

^ So, this is your first time through the DS9-R, right? Glad you're enjoying it. :)

I just watched When It Rains... last night, but probably won't have the time to watch any other ep for a few days.

^ Yeah, this is my first time reading the DS9R. I read everything up to Horn and Ivory and Rising son a couple of months, but then I didn't have enough to read anything else cos of school. but now with the holidays and all, I have plenty of time to read. I got all the MG books, Unity and P&C waiting on a shelf. :D I can't wait to get to Unity. :)

This bring in another question - Why did they destroyed the Defiant only to have a replacement two episodes later just in time for the series finale? What happened to the Romulan cloaking device onboard the Defiant? Was it intergrated into her replacement's systems?

No clue. Maybe 8-4-7-2 can shed some light onto this.

To my knowledge this was never discussed on screen. But the 'new' Defiant does have a cloaking device in the DS9R.

You haven't read it yet?! Jeez, that's going to be the first thing I do tomorrow if I get it for Christmas. ;)

Oh, and in other news, I changed the first line of my sig slightly. ;)

^ No, I haven't read Unity yet because I just started reading This Gray Spirit yesterday. :) I can't wait to get to it though, cos I've had it for about two weeks now. :D

I didn't know where this goes so I thought here was the best place:

I finally got it. Thats right, one of the gifts I opened tonight was the DS9 companion. Its such a beautiful book, its almost as good as the Bible. (I'm a catholic, so I say ALMOST :) ) I just restarted the series and last time it was jammer's reviews, this time its the companion. My DS9 life is good.

^ Well I'm glad you got the Companion. :) It really is a wonderful read. :)

I got three Trek books from my g/f; all of them written by KRAD. :D She got me both IKS Gorkon Books and The Art of Impossible. I'll get most of her presents to me when I get back to Canada though. :) And I also get a ton of presents for New Years. :) Man I like this year, hehe.

The Companion says that the producers wanted to have a painful and gut-wrenching moment for the audience at the end of The Changing Face of Evil. They couldn't kill off a character, so they destroyed the Defiant, since it was a sort of a character in peoples' minds.

I got Unity!!!!!!!

And the DS9 Companion and Star Charts. I also got a $50 gift card for Chapters from my aunt, so that's designated for Star Trek books in the coming year. ;) :D

And just about enough money to complete my DVD collection with Seasons 1 and 5. :D

Well, I took the time today and watched Tacking Into the Wind, Extreme Measures, and The Dogs of War! :D Tomorrow the journey comes to an end for me, when I watch What You Leave Behind.

Oh, and since the holidays are over, I brought out my new av! How do you all like it?

I'm making limited progress myself. I'm up thru It's Only a Paper Moon.

Man I love that episode! Vic rocks!

I couldn't agree more. I pretty much love every scene Vic is in with It's Only a Paper Moon being the highlight. :)
