Pike's legs seemed to be moving when they got off the transporter pad. He also had McCoy working on him so he may be ok. He definitely needs to be in the sequel.

I agree that Pike's new continuity works. In TOS, Pike was a character that intrigued me since he only appeared in The Cage and The Menagerie I and II. I'm glad to see they didn't kill him off.

Besides, from what I saw, that Captain Pike was one bad mother-

I'm just talking about Chris Pike. I know we can all dig it...
