"The Fall of the Federation" Best of Trek #2

he was banned from TBBS a few years ago.

how come, if i may ask?

Because he was able to be baited by haters into mouthing off...

Yes, yes, it was all our fault that poor widdle James Dixon, to pick the first example that comes to mind, said that the writing of Trek novels was so poor that the authors must have been trading the editors sexual favors in order to get published. The fact that that it's a typical example of his opinions and conduct is beside the point. We pushed him to that state, because of the black and terrible evil that rested in our own hearts.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I kinda got the feeling from reading his timeline that Dixon didn't quite get the "let's all get along despite our differences" message of Star Trek. I will still get a huge kick out of his (no doubt several page) rant and rave over how "wrong" Star Trek XI is, should it ever appear.

Wow, somehow I dodged this guy(Dixon) completely. I do have the original Fall of the Federation(I own many Best of Trek volumes) and it was an interesting but highly simplified analysis of why a civilization would fall. Not bad for the 70s - but we've come a long way with our Trek lore since then.
