So there was a moment when I needed an avatar to put up for my name change for halloween to "Evil". so I did what I could scouring the whole internet look for some kind of evil avatar --- now there is this contest --- Make an Evil Avatar, your mission should you choose to accept it, is to go and explore your memory or the movies or from anywhere on the internet or not - you can use possibly anything --- less the copyright be infringed --- can't have that: the avatar is 200 by 200 or less in pixels and 1 megabyte in size--- (is that right? or is it less then 100k) mmmm maybe with some nice gif's it does get kinda big sooo yeah evil gif's wow I can't wait- if it is good by me, I might change MY actual avatar to that!! But only if it is better than mine --- three avatar entry contest and lets see what is evil I have one right now beside my current avatar -- and here it is,..

Every October if I have Blu-Tack or anything similar like plasticine I roll it in to little heads and use coloured pens to indent faces on them which I keep on my computer monitor stand for my own little Halloween decoration. Things like The Scream and Chatterer. Working on my entry...

Don't know, just found it online, and you know, while it's funny, I also considered that there was no other reason to do this than to spoil the event for the person (or persons, that's a rather large sign, isn't it) behind him, a person we have no reason to believe he knows. It is pure Schadenfreude, the only joy derived is from the "harm" of another, so ... quintessentially evil.

You've set up an interesting dilemma for the voting thread. Obviously he's basically the ur example of evilness... but can one really bring themselves to vote for Hitler?

OK I went to DA === deviant art site I am apart of and looked for something evil,.. I'm not sure about their copyright policy I let people copy my stuff 000 I did not see anything about that and was able to download the image- so mmmm I guess it floats?

Wait, what? I'm a ghost, not a copyright lawyer!

I am not aware of any board policy that would result in your entry not being acceptable. I mean, we allow avatar contest entries that are taken directly from movies and TV shows, which would certainly fall under copyright, and as far as I know, it has never been a problem.

We don't allow people to embed in a post an entire movie from YouTube that has been uploaded in violation of copyright, and we don't allow people to post an entire magazine or newspaper article. But cropping and shrinking an image found online to create an avatar has never been prohibited.

(If I'm being totally honest, most times when I'm looking for entries, I use Google image search, and then just download the image from the Google search results, without even going to the originating page to see where they are from. )

So no concerns from a board policy standpoint.
