Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 22 - Next episode in sp

I'm actually caught up with this show; the only story that I could do without is the missing girlfriend/sister angle, which just drags. Other than that pretty well paced. Not as fantastic as Heroes in its first season, but that is a pretty high bar. Better than No Ordinary Family, which is a bitter disappointment.

Honestly we don't need a new post every week for this "show", there are about three people in the world that watch this train wreck.

November 22nd?

Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 29 - Next episode in sp

The first 50 minutes were "meh"--lots and lots of contrivances rather than clever organic plotting and the characters still don't do anything for me but the final act's two revelations were enough to lure me back when the show returns in February. Whether it will end up with lame answers or non-answers remains to be seen but I have to admit I am curious enough about some of the show's mysteries to stick around.

This episode however overall was average.

"Everything Will Change"? - What? The show will go from cliche crap to something watchable? Doubt it. ;)

Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 29 - Next episode in sp

I just watched the last ten minutes of this episode - but the big revelations weren't enough to make me interested in seeing more. :rommie:

This show obviously goes to "24 with aliens" direction. I like it and will continue watching.

Looks like Thomas wants to bring more of his people to Earth instead of just going back, so THE EVENT is probably an alien invasion. Hardly surprising or new but interesting how it will be pulled off ...

I have V for all my alien invasion needs. :)

Jan 4 is coming up soon! Yes, the show sorta sucks, but after seeing The Event, it seems to suck less now...

Seriously, V?
Both shows are not exactly an award-winning material, but V is in a totally different dimension of suck. It's Uwe Boll levels bad, IMO.

Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 29 - Next episode in sp

Yeah, the Event is way better than V which I found to be nearly unwatchable except for the hot actresses on the show. The Event isn't great but it's entertaining enough for me to keep watching but probably not enough for me to buy it on DVD. It won't be back next season so I hope they make this season a complete story with no cliffhanger ending.

Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 29 - Next episode in sp

V has nothing going for it with the exception of Morena's performance as Anna. It has no urgency, no interesting mysteries, no interesting mythology, cookie cutter aliens struggling with those evil human emotions--like we haven't ever seen that, boring characters, tired 9/11 terrorist allegories, silly sci-fi notions.

The Event may not have interesting characters and is chocked full of contrivances I don't buy just for the sake of moving the story forward as well as tired action cliches but at least its mysteries are somewhat intriguing.

But yeah overall tv sucks

While Sean and Leila's storyline clearly is on the conspiracy part of the plot, they feel to0 disconnected from everyone and everything else. Maybe if they had the alien federal agent Simon helping them or something.

I like some of the actors on V. Can't say the same for The Event. But it's all clutching at straws. :rommie:

Re: The Event: "Everything Will Change" - Nov. 29 - Next episode in sp

i actually really like Jason Ritter's character of Sean. His emotions & reactions seem very genuine. His character has talent & character, but still human.

It looks like that he & Leila's storyline is finally now converging, with her dad being one of the aliens.

For me, this is my (and my wife's) Lost (& Heroes & 24) substitute, though we aren't following it as closely as the other shows. The stakes seem to be getting higher & higher, but hopefully things will start coming together.
