The End Of The '00s Puzzle #1: "Ding Dong"

OK, another clue:

What else is black and white and, in an oblique way, can produce "all colours"?
[That was the same clue rephrased, though - someone] Well... yes it is. :)

This is all sounding a bit like the impenetrable cryptic clues from that game show "3, 2, 1"...

I really have no idea where to even begin with this. I can maybe think of answers to the first riddle (though I'm almost certain they're wrong), but I have no idea what that answer would have to do with a sequence of numbers. Too hard!

We've obviously gone way past the original time-limit, so I think it's time to start pooling our resources (and when I say "our" I, of course, mean "your" because I haven't got a clue :p) - post any ideas you have at all and let's see if we can spark a chain reaction.

I feel like I know the answer to the riddle sentence, but still have no idea what the numbers have to do with it............

The numbers are rather obliquely linked to the riddle - it's just a matter of putting the two together in your brain and hoping something lights up. [Oh, very subtle - someone]

To give a clue, (hope ZR doesn't mind) I'll say now how I started with this...

The numbers have some repetition, but no pattern that's obvious enough to be a pattern. So I initially discarded the idea of this being a mathematical sequence. I assumed that the numbers were representing something else, as a code.

But given that 3+13 numbers follow, I thought that something bigger than what we see here is being encoded. So I thought there were two parts the the puzzle:

I must determine what is being encoded.
I must determine how is it being encoded.

So I looked to the clues, and tried to visualise the numbers.

Even though this was how I started, I may or may not have been on the right lines at this stage :p

Well, if no-one gets it from that clue, Jadzia, I may as well pack up this thread and go home. :p

Actually, I'll add one more technical cryptic hint regarding interpreting the numbers:

It doesn't actually matter where you start with the numbers - once you know what the numbers mean, and how they might relate to colours (especially black and white), you'll experience the same journey if you follow the pattern correctly.

Yes, the journey into madness.

This has been my process as well, though I am stuck on the WHAT part of it. I know what it is related to but I still can't figure out what the numbers are supposed to represent.

Visualise the numbers. Represent the sequence with something you can see... something graphical :)

... and that something you can see literally is all there in black and white, but can produce something colourful (at least figuratively).
