In an oh-so-predictable internet fanboy way, I'm going to voice the opinion that I preferred the costume he's been wearing.

The episode is actually written by RTD. Gary Russell is just writing the novelization.
not sure, worth pointing that this episode also features the return of Jo Grant.
As for when it airs, dont know, Sept - Oct maybe.
I really hope it gets a primetime outing, SJA just does not get the ratings it deserves, even more so when the Doctor is on it.
Will also be interesting to learn where Amy is, honeymoon I guess.

It's fine...I'm with the majority that I like his previous jacket and shirt better but yeah we saw David wear variations on his costume. Mostly just different shirts and what not. The jacket always remained the same. I think it was just Chris that wore his all black ensemble through the entire season. I'm really looking forward to this episode and might buy the novelization even if it is being written by Gary Russell.
Its a cool alternative though, much like, as said, Pertwee and Tom Baker and Tennant mostly, had slight alternate arrangments, as has Smith with the blue and red tie/shirt combos.
Although looking at it, the jacket does look different but, didnt Smith say that the tweed jacket was actually his? So maybe wardrobe have got a few more to play with.
Still, looks interesting though, but i doubt the meeting with Eleven will have the same emotional feel as it did in School Reunion with Ten, that chance in a miilion coincedental meeting was fantastically played by both Tennant and Sladen, Tennant made you actually believe he was Bakers doctor.

I don't think any Doctor has worn the exact same outfit from beginning to end (although we don't truly know if the Eighth Doctor did or didn't). Sometimes the changes were hardly worth mentioning, sometimes they were considerable. Even the Fifth Doctor changed his costume in his final season with a slightly different shirt, pullover, and striped trousers (albeit the differences were hard to tell from a distance).

No it didn't, he had two completely different suits; one brown and one blue.
I think it's the white shirt I'm disliking the most on this alternate Smith. Maybe I'm just used to the other, but it doesn't look right to me.
My guess is, he meant the trenchcoat when he said jacket.
