The Dragonball movie.

It's been released today over here. I'll be there at the theater tonight but my expectations are very low...

*hands mutenroshi a Kamehameha cannon to fire at the screen*

So I've seen it last night. And it was not as bas as it initially looked. But make no mistake, it's still veeeeeery average.

Spoilers ahead...

Positive points:
Numero Uno in my book: Master Roshi grabbing Bulma's ass! Twice! Check!
Bikini magazines. Check!
Goku's naivety/almost-retardness. Check!
Piccolo's soldiers are spawned from his DNA. No eggs, though.
Goku's meals!
Hints at Namekans, Goku's alien origin and Bruts wave.

Negative points:
Condensing the 17 first issues of Dragonball into a one week period is kinda dumb. Goku has no proper training.
Everything seemed rushed (i.e. Bulma/Yamcha, the hunt for the Dragon Balls).
Goku is not responsible for Gohan's death. Piccolo is.
No tail!
An 8 foot tall Ozaru! :wtf:
A ridiculous Shenron! I expected something huger!
The fight between Piccolo and Goku lasts 2 minutes.
There is a lot of plot holes or cuts (the movie is very short!)

Anyway, the movie remains watchable if you don't pay attention to its narrative flaws, or short-cuts. It's definitely kid-friendly.

C+

I haven't seen it yet, but you know what ?
I hope it makes some money.

No matter how crap the movie may be or not, I admit I'd still love to see some live action SSJ transformations in a possible sequel.:shifty:

why would they coondence all 17 db issues into one film set within a 1 week period? with the source material they could do 7-8 proven to be good movies

The mid credits so called "twist" with a certain character lying in bed was just weird. Not just weird but it took too long to see who was lying there.
