Article about the US broadcast HERE.

It goes on to say:
And plans are in the works for season six of "Doctor Who" to be broadcast the same day in the United States as well, said de Croce.
Way cool, that.

Got to admit I can't wait for tomorrow. I have to work all weekend so the Christmas Special is about the only real bright spot in my holiday.

Hope I'm not setting myself up for a dissapointment.

Wonder when it'll pop on Itunes?

I can't wait, too, but after being convinced that both "Voyage of the Damned" and "The Next Doctor" were going to be great Christmas episodes, I have downplayed my excitement so I don't set myself up for disappointment again. Hopefully Moffat can break away from the Christmas curse (at least, from my perspective).

Thats what I should be doing. But year after year I end up falling into the same trap. :(

I didn't mind The Next Doctor so much, I just wish they'd done certain things differently.

The first half of "The Next Doctor" was fantastic, but once the mystery behind Jackson Lake was resolved, the episode took a nosedive for the worst. Several missteps occurred, including the fact Jackson Lake should have been the one who saved his son, not The Doctor, and Miss Hartigan, an interesting villainness in the first half, was reduced to a cackling drone. And the less said about the steampunk Cyber King, the better.

I actually liked the steampunk Cyber King, ridiculous as it was. :ouch:

But I agree that the first half of The Next Doctor was much better, and Jackson Lake just standing idly by while his son was in danger and begging the Doctor to save him was awful.

Steam punk CyberKing or

Flying Shark pulling a sleigh

Hmm I wonder if it will top "The Next Doctor's" over the top moment.

Exactly. They needed to show the Doctor looking torn for a moment, then given him a bit of dialogue like "Those people outside need my help. What your son needs is a hero." only less cheesy. :) Would have turned Mr Lake from an okay character into a really good one.

And yeah, the Cyber King was so silly it was cool. In a classic Who sort of way.

I know I had another gripe, but darned if I can remember it atm.

I'm one who thinks the Cyber King plot was lame too and hurt the emotional impact of the Jackson Lake plot. I'd go so far as to completely remove all the Cybermen plot, keep Miss. Hartigan as the villain but just have her kidnap children and use them as slave laborers or something. I dunno what for, but just make her a cold, heartless, bitch.
