The Doctor said he'd done it, but with who?

A small joke in Message in a Bottle. The EMH II cites that they shouldn't even have "genitals" according to their factory specs, so don't even think this was another aspect of the Doctor's character patterned after Reginald Barclay. Thank you.

At a con I went to a couple years ago Robert Picardo made some light of this issue, claiming that he was bloody surprised reading the script for the first time since he hadn't realized that the Doctor WAS sexually active at this point or EVER, which made the crowd laugh its ass off.

So who was it?

I always assumed it was either Denara or Freya, though I guess it would follow that he and Charlene had bumped uglies as well.

I just looked up Charlene on IMDB. These days she's the mom "Francine" on American Dad. Holographic Wife to cartoon Wife. That girl finally made it big. Kudos Wendy.

I think it was in 'The Blink of an Eye' Voyager gets stuck above some alien world which moves in fast forward. Unable to break Voyager free the Doctor then volunteers for a recon mission but got stuck on the surface for many years. Watching the society go through renaissance art, invention of the the steam engine automobiles, space race....
I'm almost sure a little hologram baby was left behind on that planet.

I believe he adopted a girl and was again married? That's a gut reaction which I can't be bothered referencing it, but Blink of an Eye was well after Message in a Bottle where his sexuality was established. I was more curious about who slipped under the radar when we (and Mr Picardo.) didn't think such a thing was possible?

I always assumed it was Denara Pel, though I suppose it might have been Charlene, or even both of them. I don't think he and Freya actually had the opportunity (which is not to say they wouldn't have done it if they'd had the chance!), and Kes didn't seem aware of his attraction to her.

I never picked up that vibe from him and Sam at all. Actually, I always assumed that if Sam was doin' it with anybody, it would have been Neelix! Not during her pregnancy, but later. It's easy to love someone who loves your kid.

I think the bigger question is, not when or who did the Doc get his swerve on with but rather when he he decide that he needed to program himself with sexual desire?

Why would a medical hologram need to have sex?

Well, that's why I included Sam. Therapeutic or medicinal sex. Doctors do prescribe sex for pregnant women as it calms them and apparently the babies enjoy the "gentle rocking" and since she was "married" it's not like she was ready at that point to "cheat" on the man she loved just because this activity was going to make her term so much easier especially since hormonally pregnancy does increase the sex drive.

Though maybe she had a hologram of her husband, like Tuvok had a hologram of his wife? Because THAT was medically necessary most ridiculously.

The Voyager Crew used the holodeck as a brothel at the best of times. How many adventures with these fully anatomically correct holographic characters was a ken Doll like the Doctor was he going to put up with until he bowed to peer pressure and got a penis like the rest of the male holograms.

Now that you mention it, that holodeck Hedonistic vacation spot Neelix created with all the half naked men & women roaming around does spring too mind.

However, Neelix said it was a recreation of a place on Talax. I always wondered, if he was so lonely why didn't he holographically put some Talaxians in it?

Tallax was an occupied world maybe on par with Bajor under Dukat possibly, so he'd probably come to terms with never seeing any concentrated populations of unbroken Talaxians years earlier...

Besides, why would he want to disrupt his monopoly on Talaxian sexuality? The last thing Neelix needs is more hedgehogs in the dating pool.

I have always suggested that the doctors "growth" and emerging sentience was totally faked to keep the crew entertained during the long slog home. If he is sentient then he's a slave (PHOTONS BE FREE!!!) to one degree or another even if he can write his own code and request to leave the ship to become a singer.

Though if I recall, it was Pel who was interested in him to even gently push the courtship rituals which would have tapped a series of responses meant to further amuse the crew as that they could talk about how they got the Doctor laid, and they could laugh their asses off... because he had to be programed to respond to people falling in love with him to some degree by "Reginald"?

This is the most likely point at which someone else would have made him his penis(At any other point where he became sexualy active he would have had to do it himself.). Although who is this master builder? Tom or B'Elanna? If either of these two people were the architect for the Doctor's member that would put into play all sort of conceptual decisions about the initial design issues personalizing Tom and B'Elanna's own beliefs in sex. I'm not just talking about size. there's also shape, reliability, power consumption, grooming and smell to consider among a few other factors including morphability that his penis might redesign itself to be the most compatible as possible with his intended lover after performing a series of medical probes.

I think that Denara was certainly the first. And he probably did do it with Charlene.

And Tom was definitely the one who would've helped him. Aside from the fact that he's Tom, and he's the one who helped him with his date(s) with Denara, I just don't see Season 2 B'Elanna doing that for the Doctor.

Even if the Doctor didn't have any sexual interest, Denara Pel certainly would have, seeing as she'd spend her adult life as a repulsive phage victim, shunned by everyone else, she'd certainly be interested in some intimate contact before she died.
