For those not familiar with the even, Pennsic is a 2-week long campout for historical re-enactors, attended primarily by the Society for Creative Anachronism. A perfect venue for the Doctor, don't you think?

For a while now I've wanted to go to a renaissance fair as the Doctor.

When I was at Melbourne Uni I joined the Society for Creative Anachronism (during orientation week we all joined about a hundred different societies, clubs, politcal parties etc). They used to give swordfight demonstrations in full armour. Strange bunch of people, though the medieval parties(pissups, that is) weren't bad..

I went to the Kansas City RenFest as Donna Noble last year, but... well, because I threw together the outfit from what I already owned, I called it my "Dark Doctor!Donna", so no one knew who I was. LOL

After reading this, I went researching the SCA online and am now very interested in joining my local group. It looks like so much fun!

The SCA is loads of fun, and so is the partying into the wee hours drinking and singing bawdy tunes, like... the love GOAT! (soon you'll be taking another turn...)

But no one dressed like the Doctor on my outings.

I'll be doing that this year. They're having a royal wedding, and the Doctor loves a good wedding.
