News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

So we pretty much have a bad news/good news situation going.
I noticed the Hollywood Reporter article only says "Marvel", so I wonder if this is one of the Jeph Loeb's Marvel TV series, or another of Kevin Feige's Marvel Studios series?

Kevin Feige has expressed interest in the Kamala Khan character in the past, so I would guess it's one of his.

We heard nothing about the Jeph Loeb side of Marvel today, and it occurs to me that the series he may be doing for D+ may be more along the lines of the current Disney animated series. Specifically, he may finally be bringing an animated version of the X-Men back to the small screen. (Though I'd gladly settle for a second season of Wolverine and the X-Men.)

It could also be that animated New Warriors/Squirrel Girl series we heard about 50 years ago.

Looks to me like it could be fun.

It looks adorable, but I'm worried it will fall into the same trap Lion King fell into, which was these animals not really being able to emote.

Of the trailers for the service I saw today, I really liked the new Star Wars show, and that Jeff Goldblum show could be a lot of fun.

That didn't really bother me so much. It reminded me a lot of the live action movies that used real animals with voice overs that aired on television way way back.

After seeing this trailer, I can't help but wonder if there might be a chance - however slim - for a new entry in the Tron franchise to be produced for Disney+. (Probably not, but still.)

Feige said Ms. Marvel would appear in the movies at some point, so I’m thinking live action.

If they manage to work out a deal with Sony and make Human Torch young, having her, Spidey and Human Torch occasionally team up could be a fun dynamic.

I wondered that too. I saw one version that said Marvel Studios. Not sure if that was based on knowledge or not.

Yeah, I always kind of thought that with Tron Legacy, Disney had wanted to make Tron their Star Wars. But once they actually acquired Star Wars, that was pretty much it for Tron. Marvel probably makes it even doubly so, IMO.

WIth streaming there is always room for content, and you have much more flexibility. I could see that being the reason why they would go back to tron, maybe not now but in a few years or so.
