News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

I just discovered something, Disney now owns a bunch of Don Bluth's movies, and Blue Sky Studios, which is the company responsible for the Ice Age, and Rio movies, Horton Hears a Who, The Peanuts Movie, and a few others.
I wonder if any of that stuff will be on Disney+?

I saw a report that said the new Apple streaming service had won the rights to Peanuts and Snoopy content, and has a few new Snoopy shows planned.

Anyone else take advantage of the 3 years for 140 dollar deal? I jumped on it when I heard.
I almost pulled the trigger but decided against it. I’m only interested in original content, and the new shows are spaced almost a year apart, so I’ll probably just sign up for a few months each year and binge what I want then cancel. That’s what I’ve been doing for Discovery and it works well.

I did. I'm looking forward to revisiting some older stuff (Like Oliver and Company) and maybe watching the Mandalorian.

Yeah, one of the big motivating factors for getting it is the old stuff, I have a kid, and as that stuff gets pulled from Netflix...

Hope springs eternal, they will put all of the 90s animated films on the service, I want to show him Aladdin.

The Marvel movies and the Star Wars stuff is sort of a bonus for me.

And that price... holy shit. That's less than 4 bucks a month. Like, what a FU to Netflix.

The thing that sold me on it too was it's a 3 year thing. I already have Hulu and I might get ESPN + but don't need it. Instead of paying monthly, I won't pay for it again for 3 years. That was pretty nice.

The rumor mill has an animated Power Pack series coming to Disney+ from Marvel. Animation would probably be the way to go so your actors don't outgrow the roles in a couple years. No word on whether or not it will be MCU Canon, but it is apparently being developed by Kevin Feige, which would indicate that it is possible. Speaking for myself, I would have no problem accepting animated content into the MCU continuity.

Do we know yet what is going to be coming from Jeph Loeb and Marvel TV? I thought someone said we'd be getting stuff from both Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios and Loeb and Marvel TV, but so far all the Marvel stuff I've heard about has been from Feige.

I'm pretty sure that stuff will all be on there, eventually. As far as I know it's not streaming anywhere else, so I'd say there's a chance it might even be first day stuff.

Are any of the Marvel series going to start on the first day?

Yeah, I definitely would have been curious to see the Muppets in a bigger story like that.
